Hyundai Kona on Its Promising Innovation

Since its first launch back in 2017, Hyundai Kona has received numerous accolades in its class, including the 2022 Best Subcompact SUV for the Money award. If you are looking for a subcompact SUV, the Kona might be a perfect choice for you. Although there are advantages and disadvantages to every car model, you should dig deeper to know if a vehicle model fits your lifestyle and needs.

To know whether the Hyundai Kona is worth spending your hard-earned money on, check out some of its pros and cons from actual users. This will guide buyers in purchasing their next vehicle.

Pros

The exterior design is a stunner.

From 2017 up until now, Hyundai Motor Company has never failed to impress us with the Hyundai Kona’s exterior beauty. It is a total road head-turner. At first glance, you probably would’ve thought that this model is a sports car. Hyundai has been continuously updating its exterior into a more aesthetically pleasing car. Its expensive-looking style is a statement on the road.

The fuel efficiency is immensely impressive.

Hyundai-made vehicles are known for their great fuel-saving capabilities ever since. The Hyundai Kona returns an impressive mileage of around 21 kilometers per liter. Its fuel efficiency is a big yes factor if you are living in the Philippines. You are much aware of the terrible traffic situation in the country. Using the Kona would be beneficial for the heavy flow of traffic and long drives.

It has a refined powertrain system.

Hyundai Kona is powered by a 2.0-L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine matched to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It doesn’t perform as powerful like a sports car. However, the power it produces brings out a quick acceleration and powerful performance. Users have been saying a lot of good feedback regarding the performance of the Kona.

Great value for money and reliability

The most valuable leverage of the Hyundai Kona is its promising development. Hyundai Motor Company offers something new every year with this subcompact SUV. That’s a great trait to look forward to, when the automaker always seeks for improving their model, you could rely your trust on them. For 2022, Hyundai Kona comes with several updates and upgrades from the exterior to its performance. With the continuous innovation of the Kona, you truly get your money’s worth.

A wireless charging station is present.

Forget about the hassle of looking for your cable chargers, plugging, and the mess. This Hyundai model comes with a wireless charging station. It will provide easy access to charging and promotes safer driving.

It promises continual innovation.

As I’ve mentioned, this car model promises more innovation than most of its competitors in the market. The Kona has only started a few years, but it already offers futuristic innovations. Several car models are now in their early stages of developing electric cars, whereas the Kona has been offering an electric and hybrid version since 2019.

Cons

It is not a spacious car.

The Hyundai Kona is relatively small for a subcompact sport utility vehicle. The headroom is not at all spacious as well as the legroom. If you are a fairly tall person, this car model might not be the best option. Although the Kona doesn’t hinder tall people riding in it, it is not comfortable, especially for second-row passengers.

Cargo space is also small.

Since it is not your typical generously spacious car, the boot space is also small. Though, it is enough to fit your daily cargo. It can also be extended when you fold flat the second-row seats. If your driving lifestyle doesn’t require you to have massive cargo space, the Kona is one consideration.

The ride is relatively stiff.

Since the Hyundai Kona is not a sought-after car in comfortable seating, affiliated with this issue is the stiffness of the ride. The Kona is an impressive car in many aspects, but its primary sought-after trait is not comfortability. From the seating to the whole ride experience, it is not the most comfortable in its class.

It has a timid-looking interior.

Unlike its exterior, the interior design of the Hyundai Kona gives a timid feeling. It’s as if you’ve ridden a different car with its interior finishes. Although it’s not bad-looking, it is not that impressive. It does not pair up that well with its exterior beauty. But who knows what the next version of the Hyundai Kona would look like inside?

The cabin is mostly made out of plastic.

It is one of the concerns of people having second thoughts about buying the Kona. The cabin is mostly made out of hard plastic. It may be nice-looking, but the Kona is not that premium-looking because of the plastic finishes on the dashboard and doors. But the advantage of being surrounded by hard plastic material throughout the cabin is, it is easier to maintain and clean.

It lacks some desirable features.

Hyundai Kona is undeniably an innovative car, and it has had promising developments throughout the years. However, it lacks features that some ordinary vehicles have. I guess every car model has its strengths and weaknesses. And Hyundai Kona is made to impress in its way.
