New Honda BR-V Pros and Cons: What Should You Know?

Honda Motor Corporation steps up the game with the new-generation Honda BR-V as it has been improved to be a more competent subcompact crossover SUV in the market. And just like its competitors, it has advantages and disadvantages depending on who would use them. To gauge whether the all-new Honda BR-V is the perfect car of the generation and the perfect car for you, the pros and cons list below from its users would give an insight.

Pros

The exterior has become better.

Honda BR-V has always been one of the best-looking in its class. It has a distinct and attractive look that is surely known as the BR-V. And now that Honda made a step forward in improving further the BR-V for its second generation, they did not disappoint the automotive community as its exterior has gotten much better than before. It appeals to be in a minimalist look whilst bringing the aggressive vibe of the BR-V.

It can accommodate up to seven occupants.

Nowadays, one of the deciding factors in getting a car is if it can accommodate the whole family. Unlike its competitors in the market, the Honda BR-V is a seven-seater subcompact crossover SUV. Honda has managed to set up the cabin to sit up to seven people, while other subcompact crossover SUV models can accommodate up to five passengers only.

It has a powerful powertrain.

Over the past few years, there were several new car models introduced to go against the BR-V. To be honest, some of them look better than the BR-V but don’t perform like it. Honda BR-V’s performance still tops the comparison between subcompact crossover SUVs n the market. Its 1.5-liter engine supplicates the strongest throughout the years.

It is a fuel-efficient car.

Some people say that you shouldn’t get a gasoline-powered car as it would consume fuel enormously aside from it costs way more expensive than diesel. Well, this isn’t the case with the Honda BR-V. It has a gasoline-powered engine, but it thriftily consumes fuel compared to other gasoline-powered vehicles on the market. Even when you stepped strongly on the gas, the rate consumed is less than its competitors of the same class.

The cabin is comfortable and homey.

Aside from the seats being comfortable, and the vibe of the interior adds calmness, the suspension of the new-generation BR-V has been improved for a more comfortable ride. The 2022 BR-V has the “less tagtag” feel, as we Filipinos call it. It is adorable how Honda is trying hard to improve not only the look and performance of the BR-V but also improving the quality of the ride.

It has a flexible seating configuration.

Seldom do we see an SUV that has highly configurable second-row seats. The second-row seats of the new BR-V can slide into position to provide enough legroom for the third-row passengers. It is so considerate to have this seating function to allow flexibility in the car. It will also allow the third-row passengers to easy access in and out of the vehicle.

The safety and security feature improved.

Although the previous version of the Honda BR-V has the standard safety and security features a car must have to guard the passengers in times of trouble, the addition of Honda Sensing to the BR-V is a huge step up in providing utmost safety and security assistance to the driver and his passengers. It includes road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking, lane-keeping assist, and more.

It has a blind spot camera attached to the side mirrors.

If you are going to be the driver of the new BR-V, its blind spot camera attached to the side mirrors will impress and excite you, as it will assist you in driving. With this, you can see on the monitor whether there’s a vehicle approaching whenever you have to take a turn.

Cons

The insulation is not that good.

The first-generation BR-V’s insulation was often complained about, as well as the new generation. Although the insulation of the 2022 version has been improved, it still has a noisy cabin that affects the focus of the driver and the comfortability of the passengers.

The infotainment system display is not the most impressive.

When you look inside the 2022 Honda BR-V, you will be greeted by the redesigned cabin with sleek corner shapes and a minimalist vibe. However, the infotainment system display is noticeably out of the redesigned interior. It looks dated and out of style. Although it doesn’t look that bad, it isn’t appealing compared to the rest of the cabin.

The steering wheel is not yet telescopically adjustable.

Its steering wheel is not yet telescopically adjustable unlike other new car models. Admittedly, I am among those people who anticipated that the new-generation BR-V would have a telescopic adjustable steering wheel. The BR-V has several desirable traits that would benefit the driver and the passengers, but a telescopic adjustable steering wheel is not one of those.

The third-row seats are not for adults.

The BR-V is a seven-seater subcompact crossover SUV, which is evidently an approving factor. However, although it can seat up to seven passengers, the third-row occupants might have difficulty as the third row has limited legroom and headroom space. The space is ideal for kids and not for tall adults.
