What is the most impressive car for you? The ones that are capable to take you on an off-road adventure, or maybe a high-functioning SUV? Lately, I find the 2022 version of the Honda Brio impressive as the model has successfully broken its boundaries as a small car. Sometimes we tend to ignore the beauty and the capabilities of a small car like the Brio. But little that we know, its Japanese automaker is capable of intelligently upgrading it to become more attractive than before. It has been around since 2011, but the innovations made by the company are limitless. The 2022 Brio comes with impressive updates and upgrades from the exterior to its performance.
With regard to its performance, Honda Brio was noted to be one of the most well-performing cars in its class. It comes with a 1.2-Liter SOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder gasoline-powered engine that produces 89 horsepower and 110-Newton meters of torque mated to an Earth Dreams Technology Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) or a five-speed manual transmission.
The four cylinders are more than what’s needed for a small car like the Honda Brio; it balances the car nicely, and there are no vibrations especially when accelerating, which is usually the case with three-cylinder engines. The SOHC revs way faster than the ones without, making it fun to drive.
The overall performance of the 2022 Honda Brio has a more promising output than other mini subcompact hatchbacks in the market. It comes with MacPherson struts up front and Torsion Beam suspensions at the back, which is not the most optimum suspension. Even so, it is still nice because of the short wheelbase and nicely weighted steering. And even though it doesn’t come with power steering yet, it is a little bit more responsive than what the usual electronic power steering can give.
