2022 Peugeot 5008 Short Review with 3 Pros and 4 Cons, Is It Worth Its Price?

As Peugeot promises to be colossal in providing the best car models in the market, its SUV 5008 presented itself with avant-garde features and functionalities that they say are helpful to the people of modern times. But who's to say whether or not those features help? Some have already stepped their foot on its pedal to determine its advantages and disadvantages.

Pros

It has a distinct exterior and interior design.

Certainly, most of the vehicle models today are remarkably good-looking in their own way. But there is a style language that runs across different models; it is as if there is a mark that they share. They differ in the sense that they don’t completely look alike, but they share the same style language. On the other hand, the 2022 Peugeot 5008 showcases itself with a distinct yet modern exterior design. The front fascia features an avant-garde look apart from its competitors in the market. Although it also has a massive front radiator grille, it comes unique because it is frameless. The same thing inside, the interior of the 5008 has a very inviting presence, especially for the driver. The driving functionality controls are well-positioned, and the materials look and feel sturdy. Plus, the ambient lighting is well-positioned around the entire cabin.

Its riding comfort is superb.

Since the 5008 was categorized by Peugeot as a sport utility vehicle, it is oriented to perform well on and off-road. And having an off-road adventure will not be enjoyable if the riding comfort is compromised. The good thing is that you would feel that the 5008 is a premium car because of its superb riding comfort. Its suspension setup works remarkably for you to enjoy every minute of your ride. And not only that, but it also comes with well-bolstered seats which will well-support you in taking sharp curves and arduous terrains. It is a combination of different components that coincide to give optimal driving comfort for its passengers.

The seats are highly versatile.

As I have mentioned above, the seats of 2022 5008 provide comfort for the passengers. Not only comfortable but are also highly versatile. The second-row seats are adjustable to give additional legroom space for the third-row passengers. In addition to that, the third-row seats are removable to provide more cargo space at the back. It also serves as an outdoor chair whenever camping or having other activities outside the city. Although it is unnecessary, it is an innovative invention and feature.

Cons

The third-row seats are a bit uncomfortable.

The seats of the 5008 provide comfort beyond the standard across different car models and different car brands. However, just like other SUV models available in the market, it also lacks providing the same comfort level in the third row as it has in the first and second rows. Since the rear seats are removable, they are different from the others. They are not bolstered and they don't come with headrests. The seats are also narrow, and there is no support for the elbows. The third row is ideal for kids rather than full-grown adults. Nonetheless, the legroom space in the third row is enough and is better than its rivals.

The ground clearance is low.

Peugeot 5008 was categorized as an MPV before its French manufacturer decided to classify it as an SUV in 2017. It may have been included in the SUV category, but strangely, its ground clearance is lower than usual. Because of that, whenever you take the 5008 on an off-road adventure, you have to be mindful of the terrain. There are limitations because of the low ground clearance; there is a tendency that a component underneath your car could be damaged if hit by a large rock, for instance.

The default cargo space is limited.

If you are planning to acquire a vehicle to move your cargo and you are considering the 5008, then think twice. The 5008 is a great vehicle in several ways, but it is not a cargo mover as it has limited cargo space. Although it can be expanded when you fold the seats, the default space is not ideal if you have seven members in your family that will occupy all the seats. There are other car options available in the market that comes with an enormous amount of cargo space provided. However, it doesn’t mean that the features offered by the 5008 are also present in them.

It is not a budget-friendly choice.

Peugeot 5008 is considered a premium vehicle not just because of its looks, but also because of its selling price. It is priced at Php2,260,000 in the Philippines, which is far much expensive than other popular SUV models in the market. Although there are reasons why it sells itself for more than two million pesos, it is still not a budget-friendly choice. Nevertheless, it comes down to who's to use it to determine if it’s worth the price or not.
