Subaru has plans to expand its performance lineup of cars further, as the Japanese automaker has released teaser images for the 2024 Subaru WRX TR model.
While the vehicle in its entirety has yet to be seen, Subaru has released images of the wheels and Recaro seats of the vehicle. The Japanese automaker says the TR is a "sharper and more enthusiast-focused" model.
The first teaser image above showcases the car's wheels with a light gunmetal finish and red Brembo brake calipers, indicating that it packs some serious stopping power, an upgrade from what you would find on the standard model.
The second teaser is the seats of the vehicle, which look to come with aggressive Recaro bucket seats to help hold you in place when you're doing some serious cornering.
It still needs to be determined where Subaru wants to position the 2024 WRX TR in the model lineup, as the performance vehicle is already available in four trim levels in other markets. It is currently available as the WRX, Premium, Limited, and the GT.
The top-spec GT comes with electronically controlled dampers with Comfort, Normal, and Sport settings It also gets a Drive Mode Select system that allows for the customization of elements such as steering feel and damper settings.
While nothing has been confirmed yet, we suspect that the TR model will be placed under the GT in terms of pricing. We could also be wrong, as the TR could be the new top-spec model offering more performance-oriented features that enthusiasts may go after. Those huge brakes are there to stop a more powerful engine, don't you think?
For now, it's a waiting game to see what Subaru has in store as the new WRX TR model is set to make its debut at Subiefest Florida 2023 on October 7, with Travis Pastrana and Bucky Lasek set to unveil the car at the event.
