CFMoto's Class 2A small-capacity sportsbike may not be the swiftest, most potent, or the most renowned bike in its category. However, it boasts two compelling factors that could win over 2A motorcycle buyers: its sporty appearance and budget-friendly price tag.

Currently, CFMoto's only Class 2A offering is the 300SR sportsbike. One could make the case that, for this type of bike, aesthetics take precedence over performance, and in this aspect, the 300SR certainly excels.

The bike's attention-grabbing front end is accentuated by prominent daytime-running lights, while its sleek bodywork gives the impression of speed even when stationary. CFMoto's design expertise is evident in various aspects, such as the tail unit, featuring a sleek LED taillight and innovative 'through body' aero tunnels.

The critical mechanical components also showcase impressive craftsmanship, with neatly finished engine covers, upside-down forks equipped with radial brake calipers, and a cleanly-cast swingarm, among others. While being a Chinese motorcycle, some might anticipate rough edges, but surprisingly, there were no notable negative aspects. There are no badly routed wires or mismatched plastic parts, as often seen in Italian bikes of this decade. The switchgear, although appearing somewhat plastic, feels sturdy and durable.

The 300SR's single-cylinder engine is more akin to a zippy performer rather than a thumping powerhouse, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride without causing discomfort to your bones or extremities. Being a 300cc single, it delivers a delightful amount of torque, allowing you to easily navigate through city streets with quick and smooth gear changes using the six-speed manual gearbox.

The 300SR is undoubtedly well-built and mechanically sound. Considering its price, it boasts a commendable array of features, including ABS, full LED lights, a digital display, a slipper clutch, and upside-down front forks. However, similar to many affordable bikes, it gives the impression that a straightforward switch to brand-name, non-OEM tires could unlock substantial performance enhancements.

Within the 2A sportsbike class, the selection of options is not as extensive as in the naked and adventure segments. The KTM RC 390 and Yamaha R3 are two notable alternatives, both offering more power than the 300SR. The RC 390 is renowned for its exceptional handling, while the R3 benefits from a parallel-twin engine.

If you're considering a Class 2A sportsbike, the 300SR stands out for its sporty appearance and overall performance. Although it may not have the most powerful engine compared to its counterparts, it does deliver a satisfying performance. However, the most compelling advantage of the 300SR lies in its highly competitive pricing, setting it apart from the competition.

The CFMoto 300SR is equipped with a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, DOHC, four-stroke single-cylinder engine with a balancer shaft. This type of engine configuration typically provides a good balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
