The Ninja 650 shares its 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with the Versys 650 and Z650. It delivers 68 PS at 8,000 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm, connected to a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive for power to the rear wheels.

The new Ninja 650 weighs 191 kg, thanks to its completely redesigned chassis. The lightweight trellis frame and swingarm, developed using Kawasaki's advanced in-house analysis technology, contribute to its ultra-light and nimble handling.

Kawasaki's advanced traction control system improves sporty riding performance and provides confidence on low-traction surfaces in specific conditions. Two modes enable riders to adjust settings according to the situation and preference. Passengers can also choose to turn off the system. 35 kW kit models feature one mode (plus off) for KTRC.
