Suzuki Ertiga

Launch

The first generation Ertiga was launched in the Philippines in 2014, quickly enjoying brisk sales up to 2018. Banking on the same popular traits that the previous model had, Suzuki unveiled the second generation all-new Ertiga in 2019 with a host of technological improvements and a completely redesigned exterior and interior. 

Variant and Price

The exterior of Suzuki Ertiga redesign comes with distinct styling cues up front, like the headlamp and grille design, giving it a refined appearance. Meanwhile, the rest of the body including the roofline imparts a sleek silhouette that’s pleasing to the eye. At the rear, it has longer LED tail lamps that extend onto the D-pillar. Depending on the variant, the headlamps of the Ertiga comes with either halogen type reflectors or projectors. The top spec variant comes with side skirts, front foglamps, and side-mirror mounted turn signal repeaters. The Suzuki Ertiga is available in seven colors namely, Magma Metallic Grey, Glorious Brown Pearl, Silky Silver Metallic, Snow White Pearl, Radiant Pearl Red, Burgundy Red Pearl, Cool Black Pearl Metallic. Wheel options for the Ertiga are either 15-inch steel wheels or 15-inch alloy wheels.

Chassis and Platform

The Ertiga rides on Suzuki’s new designed HEARTECT chassis technology. Not only is it safer, but also aimed at providing a smooth and comfortable ride quality. In terms of suspension set up, the Ertiga uses MacPherson struts up front, and a torsion beam rear suspension. For braking, the Suzuki MPV has front disc brakes and a rear drum brakes. A manual hand brake system comes on all Ertiga variants. The dimensions of the Ertiga are a length of 4,395mm, a width of 1,735mm, and a height of 1,690mm. It also has a ground clearance of 180mm. 

The interior of Suzuki Ertiga can comfortably seat seven persons including the driver. When it is not ferrying passengers, the Ertiga can also accommodate all kinds of cargo like luggage or boxes. Made possible through its flexible seating feature, this allows the seats to be configured to make more room. Standard feature on all Ertiga variants are tilt-adjustable steering column, fabric seats, analog gauge cluster, digital trip computer, USB and 12-volt accessory outlet, power windows and manual air conditioner up front. Only the top spec variant gets rear manual air conditioning.

Safety and Technology Features

The Ertiga comes with safety features such as, front SRS airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), side-impact door beams, an immobilizer, and ISOFIX tethers. GL variants also get parking sensors and a security alarm. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes with the top spec variant Ertiga GL. This head unit can connect via USB and Bluetooth. As for the GA, it is equipped with a 1-DIN audio system with USB connectivity. Standard on all Ertiga variants is a four speaker system.

Under the hood of the Suzuki Ertiga is a 1.5-liter, inline-4 cylinder, K15B gasoline engine. The lone standard engine choice among all variants, it can churn out 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. Transmission options are either a four-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed manual transmission depending on the variant.
