The New MotoMorini showroom at 10th Avenue, Caloocan City, was abuzz this weekend as Bristol Motorcycles held the official launch of their latest scooter offering, the Vantaggio. Among those present to grace the occasion were Bristol Motorcycles President Anthony Chua, Business Development Manager Nonoy Versosa, and Vice-president for Marketing David Winkle.
The Bristol Vantaggio is the brand’s initial entry into the growing neo-classic scooter segment. Under those nicely sculpted panels is a 150cc liquid-cooled EFI (electronic fuel injection) engine, which produces 10.2 kW and 14 Nm.
“Keep an eye out because this is the first of many in our Vespucci collection of classic bikes. The Vespucci collection is named after Amerigo Vespucci, who was an Italian explorer that discovered the continent of America. This collection is named after him in homage to the heritage, the voyage and the exploration. We want this collection to have this spirit for our customers”, said Winkle. He also quickly points out that the Vantaggio is much more than just eye candy. “All models from this collection are packed with many features to give our customers great value and riding pleasure,” he added.
Indeed, this little scooter is full of technological features not commonly available in its segment. The Vantaggio runs on 12-inch rubbers, but traction is not a concern during hard braking because it is equipped with ABS (anti-lock brakes) in both front and rear.
It also has a keyless ignition for convenience and an alarm system to deter theft. The instrument panel combines an analog and digital readout for that authentic modern-retro vibe. Like most modern commuters, the Vantaggio has a USB charging port and LED lighting for better visibility and road presence, just in case other road users fail to take notice of its eye-catching styling.
What will probably get everyone’s attention, however, is the Vantaggio’s fuel efficiency numbers. Bristol claims 43 kilometers per liter for the Vantaggio, owing to its switchable Idling Stop System. This helps minimize the unnecessary burning of fuel at stoplights and also reduces carbon emissions.
The Vantaggio has a price tag of ₱168,000, but Bristol is offering a ₱20,000 discount as an introductory promo. Winkle confirms there is currently no cut-off date for this, and they will continue to offer the discount until further notice.
