5 Tops Features and Things to Learn Before Buying Honda Brio 2022

As most of the car models of our generation are innovating and improving as a whole, Japanese car manufacturer Honda Motor Corporation makes sure that the Honda Brio comes with impressive updates for its 2022 version. Honda updated the Brio’s looks and performance following the people’s needs and wants, and to be more competent in the modern automotive industry.

It has always captured the interest of car buyers in the Philippines and internationally with its impressive style design and powerful capabilities for such a small car. After 11 years since it was first introduced, the Brio still has something to impress us. The then impressive exterior has become sportier and aggressive-looking, and its powertrain system has a more promising output than before.

Variants

The 2022 Honda Brio offers the model in both manual and automatic transmission. The Honda Brio 1.2 S Manual Transmission base variant is priced at Php601,000 in the Philippine automotive market. While the automatic variants start with Php661,000 for the Honda Brio 1.2 V variant, followed by the Honda Brio 1.2 RS Automatic Transmission variant which is available at Php730,000. And for the top-of-the-line variant, the Honda Brio 1.2 RS Black Top Automatic Transmission variant is at Php735,000.

Honda promotes fun driving as there are five colors to choose from for the 2022 Honda Brio: Phoenix Orange Pearl, Taffeta White, Rallye Red, Modern Steel Metallic, and Carnival Yellow.

Powertrain

The 2022 Brio is powered by a 1.2-Liter SOHC i-VTEC engine which has 1,199 engine displacement mated to a five-speed manual transmission or an Earth Dreams Technology Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). It produces a maximum output of 89 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque and is in a front-wheel-drive configuration.

It comes with MacPherson Strut with a stabilizer as a front suspension and Torsion Beam for the rear. Braking the Brio is a Ventilated Disc at the front and Drum at the back.

Exterior

The Honda Brio’s dimensions have always been more massive than its other competitors in the same class. It measures 3,815 millimeters long, 1,680 millimeters wide, and 1,485 millimeters tall. The wheelbase is 2,405 millimeters and the ground clearance measures 137 millimeters.

The five-door hatchback Brio features a sportier and fun look for its 2022 version. The front fascia got an aggressive and mean-looking facelift from its outgoing version. The honeycomb air vent grille is blacked out and widened which gives a sportier look, with the Honda badge at the center and an RS badge for the RS Black Top variant. The halogen headlamps and halogen fog lamps are also redesigned to a slimmer shape adding a fiercer character to the face of the Brio. Even though the Brio is a small car, it has a bigger car aspiration because of its redesigned front end.

The sides of the Honda Brio are also well-designed because of the side character lines that run across from the front section to the rear, together with its side skirts below that add to the overall side profile of the Brio. The mags are 15-inch two-tone alloy wheels, and the side mirrors are also two-toned and have LED turn signal lights.

At the back, the new version of the Brio features a smaller windshield than the outgoing version with a visibility wiper on top. The top-of-the-line variant RS Black Top gets a rear spoiler, chunky rear bumper, and a honeycomb insert at the bottom.

Interior

The interior of the new Brio features typical Honda ergonomics with orange inserts on the dashboard and the doors giving accents to the cabin, which is available in all RS variants. There are controls found on the driver’s door, which automatically opens and closes the windows, while other windows are manually opened. The steering wheel is not telescopic adjustable, but can be tilted to adjust according to the driver’s comfortability, and has control buttons for the infotainment system. Behind the steering wheel is a clean-looking gauge with white and orange dial accents.

It has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system display, without physical controls. It doesn’t come with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, but it supports other modes of connectivity such as Bluetooth. The seats are manually adjustable for the driver and the passenger and are covered in fabric. It has a funky-looking geometric pattern with orange accents which looks like an old-school Honda car.

Safety and Security

The Brio comes with standard safety and security features. It has dual front airbags, an anti-lock braking system for the electronic brake force distribution, child safety locks, seat belts for all passengers, seat belt warning, door ajar warning, front impact beams, side-impact beams, day and night rearview monitor, crash sensors, engine check warning, central locking, engine immobilizer, anti-theft alarm, antitheft device, and power door locks. It doesn’t come with the advanced Honda Sensing package, but the manufacturer guarantees its customers that the Brio is also as reliable.
