2022 Jeep Wrangler Fuel Consumption: Does it deliver excellent fuel economy?

Most of the time, we compromise the things that we want to make sure that we live in practicality and not tolerate ourselves by supplementing our wants over our needs. We look for what is beneficial, especially in the long run, and not just jump abruptly to our wants. Although, of course, there are times that we reward ourselves with our wants over our needs, and I think that's inevitable to some. However, in our present time, there is one thing that pushes us back to practicality – fuel prices.

As continuous oil price hikes seem unstoppable in the coming months, not only Filipinos, but people around the globe are considering alternatives for more practical transportation. Industries that use fuel and automobile manufacturers are developing ways to replace fuel energy. Although there are already inventions that use electricity as the main source of power, we still need a lot of innovations in that area. In the meantime, what we need is a practical vehicle that could help us on our daily transportation travels, a vehicle that is practical enough to be a fuel-saving machine.

We need a fuel-saving vehicle, yes. But what if we are privileged to have a fuel-efficient engine in a powerful vehicle that we have always dreamt of? It may sound impossible as powerful vehicles are accustomed to burning more fuel than a laid-back car. But the 2022 Jeep Wrangler promises decent fuel economy better than its rivals while giving one of the best road performances in the class.

Responsible for powering the 2022 Jeep Wrangler is a 2.0-L DOHC inline-4 turbocharged e-Torque diesel engine that makes 268 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The output of the whole powertrain system of the Jeep Wrangler has always been well-commended because of its ever-robust engine and reliable transmission. If not the best, the Wrangler is the best off-roader you could get in the market today.

Despite that, the Jeep Wrangler is a beast on- and off-road; its fuel consumption log will blow your mind. Inside the city, under a light to moderate traffic situation, the Wrangler runs around 7.1 kilometers per liter, which is impressive considering its output. On the highway, it burned a liter of diesel after a 14-kilometer run. Those figures are decent and impressive; and is one of the best in the segment.
