Does Ford F-150 Deserve A Premium Price?

I have never encountered something labeled as the premium that doesn't come at a much greater price. And I think you'll agree with me on that. For example, the Ford F-150 is a premium pickup by the American automaker Ford. But what makes it deserve that adjective? Certainly, there are numerous reasons why it comes with a higher price tag than its other pickup siblings like the Ford Ranger and Ford Ranger Raptor. But are these reasons enough for you to shed anywhere from Php 2,698,000 to Php 3,389,000 for one? Or can you live without them?

First of all, know your goals and identify the reasons why you have to acquire such a vehicle. If you want to have it because you need it, then ask yourself what specific need are you satisfying. Because sometimes your reasons are validated just by a preconceived need. But once that need is satisfied in other ways, your reasoning suddenly turns into a want. If that's the case, then it's fine. As long as you have the means.

That Php 2,698,000 to Php 3,389,000 price tag of the Ford F-150 sits on top of the Ford Ranger and Ford Ranger Raptor. Both are equally capable and well-equipped trucks are in the market. Does it mean though that its siblings are less than able compared to the F-150? How better is the F-150?

Given the history, reputation, and capabilities of the Ford F-150, it is safe to say that it has an ace over both the Ranger and the no longer sold Ranger Raptor.

One of the most important features of an off-road-capable pickup is its powertrain system or the components that are responsible for its performance. Under the hood of the 2022 Ford F-150 is a 3.0-L Power Stroke V6 diesel engine that churns out 253 ps and 596 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and has a four-wheel drive. When it comes to cargo capacity, it is the most capable as it can carry heavy payloads of up 1,200 kilograms in its 1,500-liter cargo space. It can also tow up to 3,000 kilograms, which is impressive for a pickup truck. All these make for a big jump in performance over other pickups available today.

Just by looking at the F-150, you will notice that it is not your ordinary pickup truck. Aside from its imposing size complemented by the 20-inch wheel, the materials used are top-notch, high-quality stuff. The 12-inch center stack LCD screen is an in-your-face declaration of Ford's penchant for stuffing its trucks with tech and gadgetry. And it also comes with Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology which combines intelligent adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, lane keeping system, blind spot information, and cross traffic and pre-collision assist with emergency braking to provide a safe and controlled driving environment.

And because it comes with high ground clearance, an automatic stepping board retracts whenever you need it to easily access the cabin. The same thing at the back. The tailgate is power-automatic driven with a hidden step board and handle. Plus, all the comfortable amenities and features inside the cabin that you could think of are present, including driver assist features. These are just some of the reasons that make it the king of pickup trucks.

To be honest, with all these modern features I am now more convinced that the F-150 is worth its price. What do you think? Will the Ford F-150 be your ultimate pickup?
