Top executives of major automotive brands in the Philippines stand together to show the industry's resiliency in time for the return of the Philippine International Motor Show.

After a four-year-long wait, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, or CAMPI, is bringing back the Philippine International Motor Show on September 15 to 18, 2022, at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City.

As the country's premier industry motor show, the 8th edition of PIMS will showcase brand new car launches and the latest models from 13 automotive brands under one roof. BMW, Chery, Foton, Geely, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Suzuki, and Toyota will display their latest innovations to provide safer, more efficient, and sustainable mobility to the people.

CAMPI President Rommel Gutierrez leading the country's premier automotive industry organization towards recovery.

"The show must go on," says CAMPI president, Atty. Rommel Gutierrez. "The industry has to show its vibrancy amidst the pandemic. Like any other industry, we have to show our resiliency in terms of adapting to the changes that the environment has brought us. We are ready with this, and we have more than enough models to showcase."

This year's theme, "Mobility + Humanity: Innovating for the Common Good," will be the industry's guiding principle as it pushes forward from the effects of the pandemic toward smart, sustainable, and future-ready mobility. Aside from static displays, there will be test drives, car club gatherings, after-market booths, die-cast displays, and food trucks on hand to add color to the event.

Three new CAMPI member brands are joining PIMS 2022 - Hyundai, Chery, and Geely. Each will present its latest models and visions of the future of mobility in the country during the four-day event.

"I think the PIMS event will be a great venue to relaunch the Hyundai brand here in the Philippines," says Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. president Dong Wook Lee.

"We commit and will remain steadfast in our mission of providing mobility solutions that are future-proof regardless of uncertain market forces that may affect mobility, such as unstable prices of fuel," says United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) Chairman Rommel Sytin. Chery is distributed by UAAGI.

"First of all, I would like to thank Rommel and all the CAMPI members who accepted us as new members of CAM," says Geely president and CEO Yugo Kiyofuji." It does mean a lot for us. It tells me that we have been accepted well in the Philippine market, and our brand is going from strength to strength."

As in previous editions of PIMS, parking will be a significant concern for visitors eager to view the displays. The organizers have set up shuttle services between the World Trade Center and the SMX Convention Center to ferry event visitors for free. The shuttle service will be from 10 AM to 7 PM on the four motor show dates and will use a fleet of three Foton modernized jeepneys. So you can park at SM Mall of Asia and have a guaranteed ride to and from the World Trade Center.

As the exclusive auto financing partner of PIMS, the Bank of the Philippine Islands will also set up a booth for those interested in availing of car financing packages for future vehicle purchases during the event.

It has been four years since the automotive industry came together to showcase its wares. Will you be going to PIMS again this year?
