2023 Volkswagen Cross Santana unveiled with a ₱1,098,000 price tag

Volkswagen Philippines has officially revealed its first vehicle of 2023 with the new Volkswagen Cross Sanatana. The latest model to be added to the Volkswagen Santana lineup offers a stylish and feature-packed car that combines work and play.

If the Cross Santana looks familiar to you, then you have probably seen it on display since last December at the brand's AC Motors Centrale showroom in Bonifacio Global City. The car was out in the open for anyone to look at in the Volkswagen section of the multi-brand showroom.

Sportier exterior

Much like the Santana GTS that it is based on, the Volkswagen Cross Santana 180 MPI AT retains the same overall design. However, to set it apart from its wagon brother, the German automaker has given it some black body cladding, roof rails, a new set of wheels, and Cross Santana badging.

A familiar interior

While Volkswagen Philippines has not revealed what the cabin looks like inside the Cross Santana, we suspect it will be the same as its Santana GTS counterpart. However, the German automaker has stated that it will come with a 6-speaker sound system paired with a 7-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

On top of this, the vehicle also comes with a combination of leather and fabric seats with red accent stitching for a sportier appeal. It also has a sunroof as standard to let more natural light in.

The same 1.5-liter gasoline engine

Under the hood, the new Cross Santana is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder 16-valve gasoline engine that produces 110 PS and 150 Nm of torque. Power is sent exclusively to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

The new vehicle retains much of its nameplate’s safety features such as driver, front passenger, and side airbags, ESP with Brake Assistant, ABS with Anti-Slip Regulation, rear parking distance control with rear camera, and ISOFIX seats to give you utmost protection on the road.

A brand new Volkswagen Cross Santana comes with worry-free aftersales services such as its 100,000kms or 3-year warranty coverage program (whichever comes first) and free one-year 24/7 Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA).

Competitive Pricing

The 2023 Volkswagen Cross Santana can be yours for ₱1,098,000. It's ₱69,000 more expensive than the regular Santana GTS that it is based on, but you get more features and a sportier-looking vehicle for its price.

The Cross Santana is available for viewing at the AC Motors Centrale showroom in Bonifacio Global City. While you are there, make your visit extra worthwhile by dropping by from February 16 to 18, 2023, to take advantage of the “Volkswagen Blue Tag Sale” to avail discounts of up to 95% on select Volkswagen parts, accessories, and merchandise.

Do you think the Cross Santana is worth the extra ₱69,000 or is the Santana GTS still a great deal?
