Black is the new...black! 2023 Nissan Terra Sport to launch on Feb 25

Nissan Philippines is set to introduce the Terra Sport, a new variant of its seven-seater SUV, this Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Earlier in February, we reported that Nissan Philippines would launch the Nissan 400z, followed by the Nissan Terra Sport.

While we got the launch order crossed up, the information our sources told us about the particular version of the SUV was correct.

Blacked out everything

Based on what the teasers show, the particular version of the SUV will have black accents all around the vehicle.

These black accents begin with the previously chromed-out V-motion front grille at the front, the fog light bezels on the lower bumper, the roof rails, side mirrors, the tailgate, and what seem to be new 18-inch alloy wheels.

In addition, the Terra Sport will come with larger foglight housings similar to what you would find on the 70th-anniversary edition of the SUV in Thailand. It also echoes the styling found on the much bigger Nissan Patrol.

Where will it slot in?

Nissan Philippines has yet to release its official specifications. However, we suspect the SUV will retain the same spec features as the VL variants.

The new model could slot between the VL 4x4 and the VL 4x2, offering sportier styling than the standard models.

It could indicate that features such as the 8-speaker BOSE sound system and Nissan Intelligent Mobility Suite will be present in the new model.

It will also retain the 2.5-liter turbo diesel motor that pushes out 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque. The seven-speed automatic transmission will also be kept.

Will the Terra Sport replace the VL models?

While Nissan hasn’t said anything about them yet, our sources have told us that the new Sport model will be sold alongside the current VL lineup. However, they did note that the new variant will be pushed more than the VL models.

The VL models will still be available if customers want to buy that vehicle variant.

What about the price?

Nissan Philippines has yet to release any information regarding the price of the new Nissa Terra Sport. However, given its supposed position with the VL models, we suspect it will be near ₱2,100,000 to ₱2,400,000, given that it could be available as a 4x2 and 4x4.

As for its color options, we suspect it will be similar to what is available with the Nissan Navara, with Fiery Red, Stealth Pearl Grey,  Aspen Pearl White, and Galaxy Black.

For now, it's a waiting game to see what Nissan will have in store once the new variant of the Nissan Terra officially launches on February 25, 2023.
