Isuzu Ph and INTECO champion women's health

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is doing its part to help provide healthcare services to women and poor communities.

The carmaker announced in a February 2023 press statement that one of its largest dealers, the INTECO Group of Isuzu Dealerships, has donated an Isuzu NHR ambulance to the Likhaan Center for Women’s Health.

IPC said the vehicle was designed by Anos Research Manufacturing to comply with the Department of Health’s standards.

“I have no doubt that this N-Series ambulance with its proven transport efficiency, safety, reliability, and durability will go a long way to save lives and improve the quality of life of many Filipino women”, said IPC vice president for sales division Yasuhiko Oyama.

The donation was made in partnership with the Women’s Business Council Philippines Inc., which is composed of the country’s top women business leaders and entrepreneurs.

The group aims to promote and empower women in the Philippines.

Equality in healthcare

The Likhaan Center for Women’s Health is a non-government organization that advocates for health and equality, particularly for women and poor and disadvantaged people.

Some of their programs include running community-based health clinics and providing community education, organization, and mobilization in poverty-stricken communities.

INTECO president and CEO Raymond Jarina said in a speech that the donation is a tribute to two empowered and respected women: Maria Anos of Anos Research Manufacturing and his mother, Amada Ganzon Jarina.

INTECO (Industrial & Transport Equipment, Inc.) was originally known as the Far East Motor Corporation.

It started importing and assembling Isuzus in the early 1960s, later tying up with General Motors Philippines in 1975. The company also collaborated with IPC after it was founded in 1996.

INTECO currently has Isuzu dealers in Quezon Avenue, EDSA, Pangasinan, and Pampanga.
