What we know so far about the 2023 Ford Territory from the online reservation website

Ford Philippines recently opened an online reservation website for the 2023 Ford Territory- https://ford.to/TerritoryReserveNow. It is part of the brand’s way to tease the upcoming crossover SUV before its official public reveal at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show.

What the webpage shows

The webpage states the following features that the Titanium trim will have:

  • 18-inch Alloy Wheels
  • Front Ventilated Disc and Rear Solid Disc
  • Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS)
  • Rotary E-Shifter
  • Electric Parking Brake
  • LED Headlights with Auto On-Off Function
  • Wireless Charger
  • Power Windows
  • Integrated 7" Digital Cluster and 12" Colored Touchscreen
  • 10-Way Power Adjust Driver and 4-Way Manual Adjust Passenger Perforated Partial Leather Seats
  • Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Door Open Alarm
  • 360 Degree Camera
  • Active Park Assist
  • 6 Airbags: Driver / Passenger / Side / Curtain
  • Hill Launch Assist and Hill Descent Control
  • Cruise Control

Pretty darn packed, don't you think?

The webpage also shows the starting price for the Ford Territory, which is ₱1,335,000. The warranty is also available as the vehicle has an improved 5-Year or 150,000-km Standard Warranty over the outgoing model's 3-Year Warranty coverage.

What about power?

Based on the web portal, the 2023 Ford Territory will have a 1.5-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine, producing 160 PS and 248 Nm of torque. And instead of the CVT found in the outgoing model, the 2023 Ford Territory receives a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Is the model Titanium the only variant?

While the reservation portal only shows one variant, other models could be available for the 2023 Ford Territory. Other markets, such as Vietnam, show that the crossover has three variants.

However, the Philippine market could stick to just two, the Titanium and the Titanium X. The two variant lineup echoes how the original Territory launched here with the Trend and Titanium, but with a twist.

With the price difference between the low-spec Trend and the mid-spec Titanium in the outgoing Territory negligible, customers have added extra cash for a more feature-packed and well-rounded offering. Thus, Ford decided to ditch the Trend in the outgoing model eventually.

Ford would have learned its lesson with the 2023 Territory and will likely stick with two trims, but this time introduce a more loaded and inevitably more expensive variant instead of a more affordable base trim.

But will a Titanium X variant move people up with their purchase consideration? Or will the new entry-level Titanium be enough for most? We will have to wait and see.
