When Suzuki Philippines first launched the Suzuki S-Presso in the country, It knew that the small hatchback would be a hit thanks to its affordable pricing and sensible features.
However, there was just one flaw with the vehicle that many would-be customers found to be a deal breaker in some instances – the S-Presso did not come with an automatic transmission.
Fast forward to 2023 and Suzuki has finally brought in a new S-Presso variant with its Auto Gear Shift (AGS) transmission. The gearbox is still a manual transmission, but is automated, so you don’t need to shift or depress the clutch pedal.
The announcement of this new variant comes from the brand’s official Facebook page, with the AGS model now serving as the top-spec model in the nameplate's lineup.
Customers can now place their reservations for the car at any of the brand’s 71 dealerships nationwide.
Aside from the new AGS, Suzuki Philippines has also given the hatchback an Electronic Stability Program, plus an Engine Auto Stop-Start system and Hill Hold Control.
These features can also be seen in the much bigger Suzuki Celerio.
The Suzuki S-Presso AGS gets more technology as it receives a new infotainment system now equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The engine remains the same – the hatchback still carries a 1.0-liter inline-3 gasoline engine with 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque.
Pricing for the 2023 Suzuki S-Presso is as follows:
