Exterior

Regarding its exterior, the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek retains a similar shape to its predecessor but with a new front fascia. It gets a new grille design with a unique silver accent housing the logo, a new bumper with new fog light bezels, and a new chin. It also gets new sleek LED headlights, daytime running lamps, and C-shaped LED taillights with a new tailgate.

The higher S variant gets Steering Responsive Headlights, High Beam Assist, auto-leveling headlamps with integrated DRL, LED cornering lamps, and LED front foglamps.

Depending on the variant, you get 17 for the L variant or 18-inch wheels for the S, wrapped in 225/60 or 225/55 series tires, respectively.

As for its dimensions, the Crosstrek now measures 4,480mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,600mm tall. That’s 5mm shorter in length than the previous version and 15mm shorter in height. It has 220 mm of ground clearance too, which should be useful when crossing mild floods or ruts.

Notably, the Subaru Crosstrek 2.0i-S Eyesight is about 32 kilos heavier than the L.

Interior and convenience

Inside, you get a similar dashboard layout to the Subaru WRX with its large 11.6-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The head unit also doubles as your reverse camera display.

Aside from this, the Crosstrek gets USB Type A and Type C ports for the front and rear of the vehicle. The 2.0i-S Eyesight model gets a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with a memory function, wireless charging, and a rear center armrest with cupholders. The power sliding sunroof with an anti-pinch feature is exclusive to the S variant as well.

Other standard features for the crossover include the S-Drive system with sport mode and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Power

Under the hood, the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is powered by a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated direct injection Boxer engine that produces 156 PS and 196 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a Lineartronic CVT with eight simulated gears and Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system.

The crossover also has features such as active torque vectoring for better handling, a vehicle dynamic control system, and dual-function X-mode with hill descent control exclusive to the Crosstrek S.

The 2.0-liter can rocket the crossover from 0 to 100km/h in 10.5 seconds. It also has a top speed of 198km/h and a 63-liter fuel tank. Subaru says the Crosstrek has a combined fuel economy of 7.2L/ 100km or around 13.88km/l.

More importantly, the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek has a 63-liter fuel tank which should make it an excellent out-of-towner.

Safety

Regarding safety, both the L and S variants of the Subaru Crosstrek have front, side, curtain, and knee airbags as standard. It also comes with a new seat cushion airbag for the front passengers, which is also available for both variants. Aside from this, the crossover also gets ABS with EBD, a rollover-safe roof and cabin, and a collision unlock feature.

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek also has the brand’s latest EyeSight 4.0 technology which gives it access to features such as Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, Autonomous Emergency Steering, Lane Departure Prevention and Lane Sway Warning, an improved Lead Vehicle Start Alert, Pre-Collission Throttle Management and a first-ever wide-angle Monocular camera that improves pedestrian and bicycle detection, among its comprehensive list of ADAS functions.

As for its pricing, you can expect the following:

Crosstrek 2.0 iL EyeSight - ₱1,998,000
