The Chevrolet Trax is a nameplate that we all thought had long died.

But the American carmaker revived it for the Philippines, officially debuting the all-new crossover on July 4, 2023 (the same date as America’s Independence Day).

And now, you can see the Trax for yourself as it goes to various malls in Metro Manila and Pampanga for the Trax Roadshow Tour, which runs from July 14 to September 6, 2023.

The Covenant Car Company, Inc., which is the official importer and distributor of Chevrolet in the Philippines, announced in a July 2023 press statement that the tour “offers customers the opportunity to discover and experience the bigger, bolder and more refined 2024 Chevrolet Trax Crossover SUV.”

Following its first stop at the Power Plant Mall in Makati City on July 14 to 16, 2023, here are the malls where the new Trax will be showcased:

Bigger than ever

Like its predecessor, the all-new Trax is a turbocharged crossover that is manufactured in General Motors’ plant in South Korea.

However, this latest iteration is considerably larger. Classified as a compact crossover, the Trax now goes up against the all-new Ford Territory, along with established names like the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5 and Toyota RAV4.

Under the hood is a turbocharged 1.2-liter, twin-cam, 12-valve inline-3 gasoline engine producing 139 PS and 220 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Three Trax variants are available at the following prices:

  • LT – ₱1,793,888

  • Redline – ₱1,866,888

  • RS – ₱1,948,888

Whichever Trax you choose, all models come standard with Advanced Safety and Driver Assistance Systems. These include features like Lane Keep Assist, Low Speed Imminent Collision Brake, Enhanced Front Pedestrian Detection and Rollover Mitigation.
