Chevrolet has just launched the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV after being announced at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show. The new model is available in front-, rear-, and all-wheel-drive, with a model being specifically made for the US police.
The Golden Bowtie brand has yet to release the full specifications of the EV, but it has revealed that the top-spec Blaze EV SS trim will come with 557 horsepower and 879 Nm of torque.
Aside from this, Chevy has stated that the new EV will also come with a Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode that allows more electricity to reach the electric motors, rocketing the crossover to 100km/h in a little over four seconds.
Fast charging is also available for the EV as it supports up to 11.5 kilowatts when plugging into a level 2 AC outlet or 190 kW at a DC fast charger.
Regarding its design, the EV model of the Blaze looks similar to its gasoline-powered counterpart; however, we noticed that the EV model looks to be a bit longer and comes with a different front fascia, rear quarter, and rear.
On the inside, the Blazer EV has a large 17.7-inch infotainment and an 11-inch display for its digital instrument cluster. It is also equipped with GM’s Super Cruise, which gives it a wide array of advanced driving assistance systems. It is also on top of the standard Chey Safety Assist Suite of tech, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, following distance indicator, lane-keep assist with lane departure warning, and smart headlights.
It will be available in the 1LT, 2LT, RS, and SS trim levels, each with specific upgrades and appearance packages. LT models come with 19-inch wheels, while the RS gets a different grille and trim and rides on 21-inch wheels. Meanwhile, the SS trim has a black roof and 22-inch wheels.
The RS and SS models also get LED lights with a special flourish from them and the illuminated Chevy emblem when the driver approaches or walks away. When plugged in, the lamps turn on sequentially to show the vehicle's state of charge.
There is no news on whether Chevrolet Philippines will bring this new model in. From the looks of it, it is a US market-only model.
