Kia looks to be updating the 2024 Kia Carnival as a test unit has been spotted by Korean automotive website Autospy.
Their spyshots reveal a more SUV-like styling that will look similar to the fully electric Kia EV9 that was launched on March 2023.
The new Carnival also appears to have a new set of headlights in a vertical orientation, versus the horizontal ones found in the current model.
The spyshots also reveal that the taillights have been updated, along with its wheels, which have become more intricate.
However, as the test unit is covered in camouflage, it's hard to tell if Kia changed anything else with its MPV.
Aside from the exterior facelift, we could expect the 2024 Carnival to receive a new infotainment system that supports wireless smartphone mirroring and over-the-air updates.
Called Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC), it will also likely come with built-in satellite navigation for specific markets.
However, Kia has stated that the new CCNC will first be available on the EV9 and will then trickle down to the likes of the Sorento and Carnival soon after.
We could also see the new Carnival get other updates, including a new digital instrument cluster, blind spot view monitor and more.
A gasoline-hybrid powerplant may also be put into the facelifted Kia MPV.
It will likely be the turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-4 motor found in the U.S.-market Kia Sportage and Hyundai Santa Fe, producing around 230 PS and 350 Nm of torque.
The facelifted Carnival could also enter the Philippine market as an all-wheel-drive variant, as it has been missing from the brand’s local lineup.
For now, it's a waiting game to see what Kia will do next and if these updates will make it to the Philippines sooner rather than later.
Would a tougher-looking Kia Carnival be a hit in the Philippines?
