P1.5M less than Supra! 2024 Nissan Z worth P3.888M in the Philippines

The all-new Nissan Z is expected to give a good fight to the Toyota GR Supra and the Honda Civic Type R.

When the all-new 2024 Nissan Z (known elsewhere as the “400Z”) arrives in the Philippines, it will heavily undercut the pricing of its rival, the Toyota GR Supra.

Both variants of the latest Z-car will cost as follows:

  • Z Premium Coupe MT – ₱3,888,000

  • Z Premium Coupe AT – ₱3,888,000

  • “That’s not a typo,” according to our source who has intimate knowledge of the upcoming sports car, but requested anonymity for lack of authority to speak on the matter.

Whether you opt for the 6-speed manual or the 9-speed automatic gearbox, the price is exactly the same. Crucially, the Z is just ₱8,000 more than the 2023 Honda Civic Type R and over ₱1.5 million less than the ₱5,396,000 GR Supra.

Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) general manager for marketing Dino Obias told AutoFun Philippines that the company could have priced it higher because of the demand and allocation, but it instead wanted to make the Z accessible for more buyers.

The Nissan Z's first local appearance was at an NPI dealer conference on August 2023.

Our source also provided some initial specifications for the Philippine-market Z, which our other sources said would be similar to the mid-spec Z Performance variant in the U.S. market.

Under the long hood is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter, twin-cam, 24-valve V6 gasoline engine, pumping out 406 PS and 475 Nm of torque. This is the first turbocharged Z-car since the 1990s-era 300ZX.

Those who opt for the manual will get a high-performance clutch produced by the Japanese aftermarket company EXEDY. Meanwhile, the 9-speed automatic, made in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, has a manual mode for those who want to control their own engine speed.

Inside, the local Z will get electrically adjustable sports seats, leather upholstery with synthetic suede inserts and a 12-inch customizable display. It will also have the Nissan Intelligent Mobility active-safety suite, which includes:

    • Intelligent Cruise Control

    • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning

    • Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection

    • Lane Departure Warning

    • Blind Spot Warning

    • Rear Cross Traffic Alert

    • High Beam Assist

Official reservations for the all-new Nissan Z start on Sept. 21, 2023, with deliveries expected by October 2023.

With pricing under ₱4 million, will Nissan’s latest Z “pull the rug” from under the GR Supra’s tires?
