Drive on a racetrack, get great deals with GAC Philippines' EMPOWered Drive on Sept. 30-Oct. 1!

Test-drive events are par for the course with any car manufacturer.

But when you have a hot new sports sedan like the GAC Empow, only a race track will do.

GAC Motor Philippines announced in a press statement that potential buyers of the Empow can take it to the limit at the Batangas Racing Circuit on Sept. 30, 2023 from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

“Attendees will have the thrilling opportunity to witness and experience the extraordinary performance of the EMPOW through a series of exhilarating test-drive programs on the racetrack,” the Chinese carmaker said.

The track event will be conducted under the expert guidance of multi-awarded professional racing driver Georges Ramirez.

"Putting the EMPOW to the ultimate test on the racetrack is our way of proving that we stand by every claim we make about this exceptional vehicle,” said recently appointed GAC Motor Philippines brand head Franz Decloedt.

“What better way to validate its power, performance, and precision than by unleashing it on the track, where it can truly shine," he added.

Huge discounts await!

GAC Motor Philippines also announced that all its dealers nationwide will be offering huge discounts, special deals and exciting freebies for every Empow purchased from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1, 2023.

A multi-vehicle display will likewise be staged at the Corte de las Palmas at Alabang Town Center, where customers can do on-road test drives and also bag special deals on the Empow.

The Empow was launched on January 2023 after GAC Motor Philippines had come under the wing of multinational automotive distributor Astara, which also handles Peugeot Philippines.

The sports sedan is designed to take on the likes of the more expensive Honda Civic.

Brisk performance

The Empow boasts a turbocharged 1.5-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline engine that harnesses GAC Motor’s cutting-edge MegaWave technology.

It produces 176 PS and 270 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. 

GAC Motor Philippines claims a 0 to 100 km/h time of 6.95 seconds, which is considerably quicker than the 7.8 seconds needed by the Civic RS.

To complement this superb performance, GAC Motor said the Empow has been engineered to offer a seamless driving experience with its “smooth handling, robust suspension support and precise control, allowing drivers to navigate complex turns and obstacles with ease.”

The Empow also looks the part – with its sleek silhouette, fighter-jet-inspired looks, beautiful 18-inch alloys and quad exhausts at the rear giving this GAC a distinct, sports-car-like appearance, without sacrificing its sedan practicality.

Inside, the Empow showcases a modern interior with leather panels and carbon-fiber trim. It also has dual smart touchscreens, providing drivers with a futuristic and ergonomic driving experience that's second to none.
