Over 2,000 units sold by end-2023: GAC Motor Philippines strengthens ties with dealers

Looks like it's full speed ahead for GAC Motor Philippines and its dealer-partners as 2023 draws to a close!

Resurgence is the word that perhaps best characterizes how GAC Motor Philippines is doing nowadays.

Ever since multinational automotive distributor Astara took over local operations on December 2022, the Chinese car brand’s image and vehicle lineup have gotten a huge boost amid the surge of new cars from the People’s Republic.

GAC Motor Philippines’ improved fortunes are also being helped by the recent appointment of highly respected industry veterans Franz Decloedt and Timmy De Leon, who serve as GAC Motor Philippines brand head and Astara Philippines marketing director, respectively.

And now, GAC Motor Philippines and its dealer partners are aiming to sell 2,000 units by the end of this year, the company said in an October 2023 press statement following its dealer conference.

"Our dealer conference was a remarkable display of unity and determination,” Decloedt said. “The support we've received from our dealers is truly inspiring and underscores our shared commitment to make GAC Motor a trusted brand by more Filipinos.”

Since its relaunch this year, GAC Motor Philippines has held successive launches of its newest models – starting with the Empow sports sedan and all-new GS8 seven-seater SUV in January, followed by the Emkoo and GS3 Emzoom crossovers in recent months.

“These vehicles consistently exemplify GAC Motor's four key pillars: meticulous craftsmanship, exceptional product quality and services, cutting-edge technology, and engineering excellence backed by a robust supply chain supported by renowned global brands,” the Chinese carmaker said.

The company is also mulling over bringing in electric vehicles (EV) from its Aion sub-brand, in line with the growing popularity of EVs in the Philippines following greater incentives for EV importers and buyers.

The brand’s dealer partners include the ANC Group, Angcore Group, ANGS Automotive, Autokid, Autoperfection, Auto Icon, Davao Bonifacio Motors Inc., Dreamcar, Gateway Group, Global Cars, Legado Motors Inc. and Wheels Inc.

Do you think GAC Motor Philippines can keep on riding the tidal wave of success it has achieved so far?
