    Ferrari 812 Superfast – Overview

The Ferrari 812 Superfast, first and most difficult challenge face when it decides to develop a new model is to push the boundaries of its own achievements. This challenge is made tougher that involves designing a new 12-cylinder engine, the power unit that hailed the start of the glorious Prancing Horse story 70 years ago in 1947 and is the most powerful and fastest road-going Ferrari ever built.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast’s first digit relates to the car's power rating of 800 Cavalli Vapore—Italian for horsepower, which translates to 789 horses and the 12, that corresponds to the cylinder count. The stunning prancing horses boast a melodious naturally aspirated V-12 housed between front fenders so perfectly shaped, they could have been carved by Michelangelo. The convertible variant, called the GTS, the droptop shares much with the coupe. Compared with the Superfast, the GTS has a similarly sleek look, but its tail end incorporates two buttresses that house the roof-folding mechanism.

Ferrari offers the 812 Superfast and GTS in a single spec that features carbon-ceramic brake rotors, 20-inch wheels, and an interior slathered in aromatic leather. According to Ferrari, they "visually embody a sense of forward thrust." The Ferrari 812 Superfast rivals that includes Aston Martin DBS, Lamborghini Aventador and McLaren 570S.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast guttural growl and rises to an ear-piercing shriek mated with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast make full use of that huge power and to guarantee perfect weight distribution, the car exploits a highly evolved transaxle architecture that couples a front-mounted engine with a rear-mounted transmission. The engine sends torque exclusively to the rear wheels.
