Honda ADV 160

The Honda ADV160 is one of the most sought-after motorcycles in the country to date. Honda promises a ride that will suit your adventurous spirit in the ADV160. It is the updated version of the very popular ADV150, which was a scaled-down version of the Honda X-ADV750 adventure scooter.

The All-new Honda ADV 160 price in the Philippines is ₱ 164,900. Though the Php 164,900 price of the ADV160 might be a bit restrictive for some, it is justified as you get all the bells and whistles money can buy.

Color

The All-New ADV160 is available in three color variants: Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, Matte Solar Red Metallic, and Matte Pearl Crater White.

Honda retained in the ADV160 most of the design cues of its predecessor.

The tall stance and rugged lines indicate that the ADV160 is meant to be ridden not only on asphalt but also in the dirt.

The ADV160’s chunky dimensions give it a commanding presence on the road while the tall wind screen and wide front apron offer both form and function. The Overall Dimensions of the All-new Honda ADV 160 are 1,950 mm Length x 763 mm Width x 1,196 mm Height, with 165 mm ground clearance.

Engine

The ADV160 is equipped with a new generation 157cc, 4-Valve, Liquid-Cooled, eSP+ Engine, offering advanced technology with 4-valve mechanism and low friction technologies to provide excellent power output and environmental performance (Fuel Efficient).

It delivers a maximum power of 11.8 kW @ 8,500 rpm and a top torque of 14.7 Nm @ 6,500 rpm, which proves more than enough for a reliable ride that takes you from daily commuting to leisure trips.

Transmission

It is also mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) so that performance can be access through a simple twist of the wrist.

The Honda ADV160 is fitted with the familiar dual rear shocks with sub tank to keep you planted on the ground when traversing rough surfaces. The semi-block tubeless tires (14-inch front, 13-inch rear) offer adequate traction on concrete and in the dirt so you have sure-footing no matter the riding conditions.

The lower 780mm seat height makes the ADV160 more accessible to a wider range of riders and it also lowers the center of mass for a much nimbler handling.

The ADV160 is equipped with Honda’s Idling Stop System (ISS), where the engine automatically shuts-off after idling for 3 seconds. This feature help avoid burning fuel unnecessarily and it also help preserve the environment. Together with Honda’s eSP+ (Enhanced Smart Power) engine, the ADV160 is able to achieve 45 kilometers to a liter based on WMTC test method.

The Honda ADV160 has a single-channel ABS so you can maintain composure even when doing emergency braking on low traction surfaces. A new safety addition to the ADV160 is the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), which regulates power delivery to the rear wheel when the sensor detects wheel spin during aggressive acceleration. This feature can be manually turned off when riding off road.

The ADV160 comes with all-LED lighting and the tail light has an Emergency Stop Signal function where it blinks together with the hazard lights during emergency braking to warn oncoming traffic.

The ADV160 is Honda’s current torch-bearer when it comes to their adventure scooter line-up. Initially intended to be a regional model only, its popularity has grown and it has now become a global product. This is a testament to the ADV160’s universal appeal.

The ADV160’s moderate off-road capability makes it an ideal adventure tourer for riders who give more value to fuel efficiency over speed. That being said, the ADV160 is by no means a slow poke as it offers decent power on tap.
