FJ Moto Enduro, a leading supporter and organizer of adventure and endurance rides, spontaneously organized a welcome reception for the brave Filipino riders who participated in the GIVI Rimba Raid Taman Negara 2023.
They took on the challenging terrain in Taman Negara, Malaysia from Aug. 31 to Sept. 3, 2023. They included:
Arvin Bacas (6th Place - Rimba Raid Malaysia)
Ian Ordonez (Champion - Rimba Raid Philippines Qualifiers and Finisher - Rimba Raid Malaysia)
Des Buncio (Top 5 Rimba Raid Philippines Qualifiers)
Marvin Martinez (Top 3 Philippines Qualifiers)
Michael Dacuno (Champion Philippine Qualifiers)
The Filipino contingent was among 285 riders from 35 countries who went through a route consisting of 220 km of punishing jungle terrain. Participants used high-displacement adventure bikes and dual-sport bikes.
Heroes' welcome
Selected members of the media, staunch supporters and sponsors of the trailblazing contingent of Filipino riders attended the event held at the Imprint Customs Cafe in Antipolo City.
The affair gave recognition to the participants’ striking performance both as single riders and compatriots. The riders entered a room full of supporters and friends who shared their passion for adventure riding.
With the success of the recently concluded 2023 edition, Rimba Raid organizers have drawn out a five-year plan (2024 to 2028) to grow the sporting event into a series for ASEAN countries.
