We recently received confirmation from a reliable source that KYMCO Philippines will be bringing in the KRV Moto 180, an updated version of their groundbreaking KRV 180i TCS sporty scooter.
What makes the KRV stand out from other sporty scooters in the market is its Power Transmission Matrix system. Here, the pulley system of the CVT is placed towards the center of the frame, hiding it under the panels.
This enables the KRV to have an exposed belt drive transferring power to the rear wheel. While this is a totally awesome move by KYMCO, some have raised concerns about premature wear and the possibility of belt slippage when riding in wet conditions.
As such, KYMCO launched the chain-driven KRV Moto 180 in Taiwan, with the intention of launching it in the Philippines, as well.
Up-to-date safety tech
The KRV 180i TCS is equipped with Anti-lock Braking System, Traction Control System, LED lighting and a keyless system.
It has a flat-floor RV body design that allows an optimal riding position for both spirited rides and long journeys.
Moreover, the KRV 180i TCS features an independent swing-arm derived from KYMCO’s flagship model AK 550. It not only allows a lower center of gravity and perfect weight balance, but also provides excellent ride quality and maximum cornering capability.
Meanwhile, the newly developed 175cc, 4-valve liquid-cooled engine is able to achieve 17 PS and 15.68 Nm.
From what we’ve gathered, we don’t have to wait very long for the KRV Moto 180. Currently, the KRV 180i TCS is priced at ₱189,900, so we could expect the KRV Moto 180’s price tag to be a bit higher.
Would you be willing to cough up around ₱200,000 for this chain-driven awesomeness from our next-door neighbor?
