All-Round Reviews of 2022 KIA Sorento: Exteriors & Other Features for Viewing

Korean automaker Kia Corporation received numerous nods as their high-end mid-size crossover Kia Sorento came as a gorgeous-looking car model with remarkable performance. Some car enthusiasts say that it is one of the well-powered and well-groomed vehicles of our generation. Now that the Sorento is in its fourth generation, there are several advanced technology features in it. But Kia has plans on improving more in the coming years, which means that this well-performing and good-looking car still has a lot to give in the future.

Variants

The 2022 Kia Sorento is available in two variants in the Philippines – the EX and the SX variants. The Kia Sorento 2.2 EX Automatic Transmission is priced at Php2,398,000, while Php2,408,000 for its Snow White Pearl variant. Its top-of-the-line variant Kia Sorento 2.2 SX Automatic Transmission is available at Php2,588,000, and Php2,598,000 for its Snow White Pearl Variant.

Kia Sorento is available in three colors, the Silky Silver, the Aurora Black, and its premium color – Snow White Pearl.

Powertrain

The 2022 Sorento carries a 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbocharge diesel-powered engine which produces a maximum of 197 horsepower and 441-Newton meters of torque output mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and is in a front-wheel-drive configuration. Its engine is one of the best in the world at this time, but Kia will discontinue its production and go for the EV line in the coming years. Also, take note, that it is the only model in its class that comes with a diesel-powered engine.

Exterior

The 2022 Kia Sorento has an overall wow-factor exterior that comes with a modern appeal. The front fascia features a massive black air vent grille with thin chrome accents surrounding it topped with the new Kia logo at the center. The redesigned headlights that look aggressive are LED-lit with daytime running lights which lie on each side of the air vent grille complementing the sleek hood shape. The fog lamps are also LED-lit and are located inside the lower air vent grille, which looks clean and stunning.

On the side, its 19-inch black and chrome rims wrapped in 235/40 series tires look good for the overall clean-looking side profile. Its body doesn't have a lot of character lines, it has a peaceful and quiet appeal is contrary to its stylish front clip. There are chrome accents surrounding the window, from the a-pillar to the d-pillar. There are also chrome accents below the two-toned side mirrors with repeaters on each side and the roof rails.

Heading over to the rear of the Sorento, a gorgeous and modern design is present that will surely impress anyone on the road. It features massive vertical rear lights that highlight the rear profile of the Kia Sorento, connected by a sharp character line with a Kia logo on top. Below the carving for the plate number is another character line with a massive Sorento badge on it. Another feature that contributes to its modernity is the fake wide black vent with chrome accents below that corresponds to the front fascia.

Interior

There are several impressive features inside Sorento's cabin. The dashboard comes with a massive12.3-inch colored instrument cluster, which displays all the information about the car. The soft leather-covered steering wheel is telescopic adjustable and comes with driver-assist control buttons and infotainment system control buttons. The infotainment touchscreen is an eight-inch display with physical buttons on each side for easy control. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity via connection cord and screen mirroring.

The 2022 Sorento has comfortable leather seats with armrests and headrests for all passengers. The driver seat and the front passenger seat come with seat heating and cooling function which is ideal for a tropical country like the Philippines. The driver's seat is power-adjustable with automatic lumbar and thigh support. There are bottle/cup holders for all passengers located on the doors and at the center of each row, except for the third row. There are also USB charging ports and 12-volt sockets around the cabin for easy charging access; the third row only comes with the 12-volt socket.

At the back, there is a 180-liter default cargo space, which expands to 600 liters when third-row seats fold. Under the cargo room floor is an enclosed space for additional loads or a car emergency kit.

Safety and Security

The 2022 Kia Sorento comes with the standard ABS with EBD, hill-start assist, and hill-descent assist features. It also comes with ISOFIX child safety seat anchors, vehicle stability management, brake assist, crash sensors, and electronic stability control. The basic driver, front passenger, and rear passenger seat belts are also present with seat belt warning to ensure safety in case of a misfortune event. It has parking sensors, door ajar warning, front impact beams, side-impact beams, rear camera, day and night rearview mirror, and engine check warning. It also comes with the standard central locking system, anti-theft device and alarm, power door locks, and engine immobilizer for a secured ride.
