The 2022 Nissan Patrol: A Premium SUV Tailor-made for VIPs

Luxury and performance are always a pair with Nissan’s premium SUV Patrol Royale - an upgraded eight-seater vehicle that is often used by upstate people and performance-after individuals. As the Japanese manufacturer unveiled its 2022 version, it caught the attention of potential SUV buyers in the local market. But before heading to the nearest Nissan dealership, get familiarized with what the 2022 Patrol Royale has to offer.

2022 Nissan Patrol Prices and Colors

The 2022 Nissan Patrol Royale is available at Php4,548,000 in the Philippine automobile market for the Obsidian Black and Brilliant Silver body colors while there’s an additional Php15,000 for the premium Pearl White variant. However, if you’d love some colors, sadly the Patrol only offers it in those three colors. While the cabin color comes in black for the Black Obsidian and Pearl White variants, the interior of the Brilliant Silver is tan-colored, which looks sophisticated and homey.

2022 Nissan Patrol Powertrain System

This premium SUV comes with a ridiculously powerful engine – a 5.6-liter direct-injection V8 gasoline engine with a variable valve that produces 405 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 560 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission in a four-wheel-drive configuration. Its halting power comes from its front and rear ventilated disc brakes, and its double-wishbone with hydraulic body motion suspension setup is responsible for giving the passengers a comfortable ride. On the other hand, the steering system is assisted by hydraulic power, which makes it easy for the driver to maneuver a massive SUV of its size. Its four-wheel-drive configuration has four high and four low variable mode select that adjust depending on the type of terrain you are driving, including sand, snow, rock, and on-road.

2022 Nissan Patrol Exterior

The 2022 Patrol Royale measures enormously 5,270 millimeters long, 1,995 millimeters wide, and 1,995 millimeters high with 3,075 millimeters of wheelbase. Upfront, the front fascia comes with a redesigned and fresh appeal featuring Nissan’s signature V-motion radiator vent grille with four horizontal slats topped with the Nissan logo badge at the center. The C-shaped headlamps, the daytime running lights, and fog lamps below are all LED-lit and adorned with some chrome lining accents that make the overall font clip a step ahead of the game.

On the side, the black A-pillar makes the roof appear to be floating, especially on the Brilliant Silver and Pearl White color variants. Surrounding the factory-tinted windows are silver trims matched to the roof rails up on top, door handles, small air outlets, and the step boards on each side. The rearview mirrors are power-folding with repeaters and come with a position memory feature. Lifting its massive body are its wide 20-inch alloy wheels in 275/60 R20 all-season tires.

At the back, the C-shaped LED headlamp configuration continues to the LED rear lamps with sequential turn signals. Giving the width of the car an accent is a thin chrome piece that stretches over the left and right rear lamps, over the massive Patrol script, and under the Nisan logo badge. It also has a rear spoiler with the third brake light at the center and a rear visibility wiper. Down below, its massive rear bumper comes with a tow hook that can tow up to 750 kilograms of added weight and reflectors on each side.

2022 Nissan Patrol Interior

Getting in the Patrol Royale, there is a noticeable abundance of leather material starting with the dashboard to the seats, and the doors. The dashboard panel comes in black leather for all color variants accented with some wood, chrome trims, and piano black tiles. The telescopic steering wheel is also leather-covered with wood and chrome trims with function buttons for easy access. Behind the steering wheel is an analog instrument cluster flanked by a seven-inch information screen. At the center of the panel is a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto connectivity. Nissan makes sure that on top of the Patrol Royale’s stunning performance comes a perfect sound system. The entertainment unit is paired with a 13-speaker Bose sound setup that adds quality to the ride of the passengers.

For the seats, Nissan Patrol Royale comes in two shades of leather seat covering – black and tan. The regular black is available in the Pearl White and Obsidian Black variants, while the tan is in the Brilliant Silver variant. Besides the colors, the seat of the Nissan Patrol Royale is very well praised because of the comfort it gives, as if you are sitting on your favorite couch at home – soft, well-bolstered, and wider than usual. Upfront, the driver’s seat and the passenger seat are separated by a built-in cooling box. There are dedicated air-con vents with climate control for every passenger from the first up to the last row, including cup holders and charging ports.

Aside from the charging ports available for the passengers, there is also a wireless charger up front that is accessible to the driver and front passenger. On the roof, a small sky roof is located, which is best for star gazing and letting in additional natural light during the day. At the back, cargo space can accommodate up to 467 liters of load at default which is expandable to 1,413 liters when the third-row seats fold 60:40, and a 2,623-liters of space is available when all rear seats are not in place.

2022 Nissan Patrol Safety and Security

On top of the standard safety features like ABS with EBD, airbags, traction control system, vehicle stability control system, child safety locks, and many more, the Patrol Royale also comes with Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility Suite. It includes an intelligent around-view monitor with moving object detection, blind spot intervention, blind-spot intervention, around-view monitor, lane intervention, and adaptive cruise control.
