Hyundai IONIQ 6 debuts at the 2023 Auto Expo in India

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 electric vehicle (EV) sedan debuted at the Auto Expo 2023 in India.

It marks the fourth EV Hyundai will bring to the global market, right after the Kona EV, the Hyundai IONIQ, and the IONIQ 5.

It rides on the brand’s E-GMP platform, which is dedicated to battery electric vehicles.

Coupe-like styling

On the outside, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 looks more like a coupe than a sedan thanks to its sloping roofline, elongated cuts, and creases, which give the vehicle a sleeker appearance.

As for its dimensions, its measures 4,855 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, 1,495 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. This makes it roughly the same size as a Toyota Camry.

For its exterior features, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 comes with LED headlamps, dual LED daytime running lights, and flush-fitting door handles, to name a few.

Futuristic yet minimalist interior

On the inside, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 has a spacious yet minimalist cabin. Two large touchscreens dominate it, one being a fully digital instrument cluster and the other being its infotainment system.

The electric sedan also has an intuitive mood lighting system designed to brighten up the interior and the driver’s mood. It boasts 64 different hues, backlighting the door cars and the dashboard.

There are also six dual-color themes available which were chosen based on the brand's research about the effect of colors on the mood.

Two battery pack options

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 has two battery pack options; the first is a 53kWh pack, and the second is a 77kWh unit. The former can do an estimated 429 kilometers of range, while the latter is reportedly good for 614 kilometers worth of range.

The sedan is also available in two drivetrain configurations, the first being a single-motor rear-wheel drive and the other being an all-wheel drive with one motor per axle.

The rear-wheel drive version produces 231 PS and 350 Nm of torque, while its all-wheel drive counterpart produces 330 PS and 605 Nm of torque.

Aside from this, little is known about the IONIQ 6 for the Indian market, let alone for the ASEAN region.

If priced relatively well, would you buy a Hyundai IONIQ 6 if it were to come to the Philippines?
