The facelifted 2023 Nissan Almera is expected to launch in the Philippines sometime in June 2023.
This is according to a source with intimate knowledge of the upcoming model but requested anonymity because of a lack of authority to speak on the matter.
The updated Almera is also expected to launch in ASEAN on May 11, 2023, following the debut of the facelifted Nissan Versa, the Almera’s American sibling, last October 2022.
The facelifted Almera is expected to carry over styling elements already introduced in the latest Versa.
These include a much larger “V-motion” front grill that extends further into the lower bumper. The upcoming Almera could feature a special package with a bespoke bodykit and a unique, two-tone paint job.
Inside, the revamped Almera might be available in the Philippines with goodies like wireless charging and an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and possibly Android Auto. It is 2023, after all.
Given that the US Versa is already equipped with a slew of safety features, it would be reasonable to expect the next Almera to have a similar active-safety suite that contains features like:
Lane Departure Warning
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Blind Spot Warning
Hill Start Assist
These are already common for subcompact cars and even higher variants of the current Philippine Almera.
Under the hood, the facelifted Almera will likely still have its turbocharged 1.0-liter, twin-cam, 12-valve inline-3 gasoline engine pumping out 100 PS and 152 Nm of torque. This is mated to a continuously variable transmission.
There has yet to be a word, whether official or unofficial, on the expected pricing of the facelifted Almera.
