Motor Image Philippines, the official distributor of Subaru vehicles in the country, recently dropped a teaser image of the upcoming 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. Its launch is scheduled for July 19, 2023 and will be available in two variants: the 2.0-iL EyeSight and the top-spec 2.0-iS EyeSight.

For those unaware, the Crosstrek is now the new name of the Subaru XV, which is now in its third generation in the country. The Japanese automaker has yet to share the official specifications for the crossover, but we can guess what it might have based on what is available in other markets.

On the outside, we can expect to see a similar body shape to its older version but with a sleeker front pair with a new grille and sharper headlights. The Crosstrek will also have body cladding on the front bumper and the fenders.

On the inside, the layout of the dashboard of the Subaru Crosstrek will look similar to its Subaru WRX stablemate, with a large 11.6-inch infotainment system seen in the middle. The large screen will have access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with the possibility of a wireless charger being added.

Under the hood, both models will be powered by a 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated Boxer engine making 156 PS and 196 Nm of torque. Like before, the engine will be mated to a Lineartronic CVT that sends power to all four wheels via the brand’s symmetrical AWD system.

The variant names state that the crossover will come with the brand’s Eyesight 4.0 suite of safety features we can expect the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek to come with Autonomous Emergency Steering, Lane Departure Prevention, and Lane Centering and a first-ever wide-angle Monocular camera that improves pedestrian and bicycle detection, among its wide list of ADAS functions.

As for its pricing, you can expect the following:

  • Crosstrek 2.0 iL EyeSight - ₱1,998,000
  • Crosstrek 2.0 iS EyeSight - ₱ 2,018,000

What do you think of the new Subaru Crosstrek and its ₱1,998,000 price tag?
