If you turn back time to the 2023 Manila International Auto Show, Hyundai Motor Philippines gave a quick preview of the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6. The sleek and sporty four-door electric sedan is the brand’s second fully electric vehicle to join its local lineup and sits alongside its Hyundai Inoiq 5 brother.
During the South Korean automaker’s mall display in partnership with Sony Pictures for the Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse movie showing, it had a short program to officially reveal the pricing of its newest electric vehicle.
The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is priced at ₱3,789,000 for its lone GLS 2WD Long Range model.
Like its Hyundai Ioniq 5 sibling, the Ioniq 6 carries a modern, sleek, and sporty design. It comes with full LED lighting for the front and rear with an adaptive driving beam function. It rides on 20-inch wheels and has power-folding side mirrors with a heating function.
For its colors, the new electric vehicle (EV) can be had in Abyss Black Pearl, Biophilic Blue Pearl, Curated Silver Metallic, Digital Green Pearl, Gravity Gold Matte, Nocturne Gray Matte, Serenity White Pearl, and Ultimate Red Metallic.
On the inside, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 has a minimalist yet futuristic interior filled with soft-touch materials and smooth plastics. It has dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and two 12.3-inch displays that act as the digital instrument cluster and as a touchscreen infotainment system. The touchscreen also has access to wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and a premium BOSE sound system.
Aside from its screens, the cabin also has mood lighting, and an electric active sound design system gives you driving pleasure by offering spaceship-like virtual driving sounds and interactive Pixel LED lights.

Powering the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is a permanent magnet synchronous motor that pushes out 229 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It sends power exclusively to the rear wheels with the help of an E-Shift transmission with a single-speed reduction gear.
As for its battery, it utilizes a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack that has a 77.4 kWh capacity. It can reportedly travel 545 kilometers on a single charge, but that range will still change depending on how you drive the EV and the route you take.
Regarding charging, with a 350 kW DC station, it takes the EV to get from 10% to 80% charge in 18 minutes with a range of 131 from just 5 mins of charging. However, if you go with slower Type 2 or Type 1 AC charging, expect those times to go higher and take several hours to achieve.
