Subaru Philippines is set to launch the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek on July 19, 2023, replacing the Subaru XV.

It will be available in two variants: the 2.0-iL EyeSight and the top-spec 2.0-iS EyeSight.

That said, we will look at what the new crossover will bring to the table in terms of the features that the Japanese automaker might bring to the Philippine market.

Updated exterior design

The new Subaru Crosstrek has a sleeker design language compared to its predecessor.

While the body shape remains similar, it has a new front fascia that is highlighted by its new sleeker headlights, grille and bumper design.

The crossover also has fender cladding, giving it a more off-road-like appeal. It likewise gets a set of new alloy wheels that differ in size and design, depending on the variant.

Finally, the crossover comes with a new set of C-shaped LED taillights paired with a new bumper and tailgate design for a more aggressive look.

Stiffer chassis

Subaru has also updated the Crosstrek to have a stiffer chassis than ever before.

The Japanese automaker has increased the shell's rigidity by approximately 10 percent. It also uses the same steering rack as the high-performance Subaru WRX for quicker and more responsive steering.

Despite these chassis upgrades, the ground clearance for the crossover remains the same as the previous model.

Bigger infotainment system

The Subaru Crosstrek will bring more technology than ever to the local market as the crossover now has an 11.6-inch touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It will also have a wide array of USB-C and USB-A charging ports inside the vehicle to help you keep all your devices charged.

The new Subaru Crosstrek will be safer than ever, carrying the brand’s Subaru EyeSight 4.0 active-safety suite.

The crossover now comes equipped with a monocular camera using a stereoscopic setup. This not only allows for a wider field of view to detect incoming dangers, but also helps automatically steer or stop the vehicle to prevent a road crash.

This likewise gives the vehicle access to features like pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centering and lane departure prevention.

What do you think about the changes done to the Subaru Crosstrek?
