The Hyundai IONIQ 6 has been named 2023 EV of the Year by the prestigious U.S. car magazine Car and Driver.
Hyundai Motor America said in a July 2023 press statement that this latest triumph adds to the electric vehicle's (EV) extensive list of accolades. It also marks the second year in a row that Hyundai has won EV of the Year, which was clinched by the Hyundai IONIQ 5 in 2022.

To keep things fair, Hyundai said Car and Driver employed instrumented testing, subjective evaluation and side-by-side comparison in both practicality and entertainment value.
“The IONIQ 6 lineup has available power and range that puts Tesla on notice,” said Car and Driver editor-in-chief Tony Quiroga.
“An 800-volt architecture reduces DC-charging times, but best of all, the IONIQ 6 is a car that we love to drive,” he added.
The EV award uses the same criteria as Car and Driver’s 10Best Awards. The winner must exceed the expectations of the magazine's editorial and testing teams in four key areas:
Hyundai Philippines is already selling the award-winning EV alongside the IONIQ 5, marking the brand’s push for electric mobility in the country.
The IONIQ 6 is currently on sale with a price of ₱3,789,000 for the lone GLS 2WD Long Range model.
Meanwhile, the IONIQ 5 is also available in two variants. The first is the Standard Range model at ₱3,068,000, while the second is the Long Range model at ₱3,698,000.
