SCOOP: 2024 Geely GX3 Pro official launch expected Sept. 2023, units already in the Philippines

The Geely GX3 Pro was unveiled to the Philippine market at the 2023 Manila International Motor Show (MIAS).

Geely Philippines displayed the all-new crossover with no promise of an official launch, as the automaker still wondered if the model would make sense in the local market.

Fast forward to July 2023 and it appears that the Chinese automaker is ready to officially launch the GX3 Pro, according to multiple sources with intimate knowledge of the upcoming model, but requested anonymity for lack of authority to speak on the matter.

They have confirmed that it will go on sale soon and might launch officially within the next 60 days.

AutoFun Philippines also has exclusive photos of multiple Geely GX3 Pro units being stored in a warehouse in Laguna, indicating that Geely intends to sell the crossover soon.

A couple of units have also been seen undergoing testing around Luzon.

What about specifications?

Geely Philippines may sell the GX3 Pro with the exact specifications displayed in the 2023 MIAS.

It means the crossover could be available with two variants, with just the transmissions differentiating them. The variant names are still being finalized, so they might not be called the S and Comfort models displayed at the auto show. 

However, Geely may likely expand the model lineup to cater to those on a budget as it intends to fight the popular Toyota Raize.  

1.5-liter non-turbo motor

Under the hood, we can expect a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder gasoline engine to be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission.

It will produce around 103 PS and 141 Nm of torque, similar to the Geely Emgrand. 

Our sources have yet to reveal the official pricing of the GX3 Pro, but they have stated that the crossover may be positioned around the ₱700,000 to ₱1,000,000 price range.

With units already in the country, it is only a matter of time before Geely Philippines reveals the official launch date of the 2024 Geely GX3 Pro.
