2025 Mini Cooper cabin unveiled, revealing minimalist yet futuristic styling

Mini USA has revealed the new 2025 Mini Cooper cabin with a teaser video showcasing the new look plus the start-up animation for the infotainment system.

The teaser comes after the brand has already revealed the exterior of the new hatchback with simplified and sleeker styling.

Like the other Mini Coopers before, the new model adopts the original Mini layout of a simple dashboard with a round gauge in the middle but has modernized it for the 2025 model year.

Simple and clean

Compared to the previous version of the Mini Cooper, the new version has a radically simplified dashboard. The new model ditches the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel and instead opts for a heads-up display. The large center screen now displays the speedometer and doubles as the infotainment system.

However, only some things are entirely digital in the new Mini, as it still has physical controls under the screen, presumably for the climate controls and the hazard lights.

The steering wheel has also changed as it now comes in a two-spoke design with more prominent multi-function buttons.

The dashboard material is also different as it showcases a more fabric-like design with a gray gradient pattern that transitions to a houndstooth pattern.

The air vents have also been changed to a horizontal fin design versus the circular vents available in the previous model.

The new Mini will also have ambient lighting available for the lower portion of its dashboard.

As for its startup sequence, the round screen shows the brand’s emblem, then teal and yellow balls that swirl before launching the display.

Matching the exterior

Like the interior, the automaker has also given the exterior of the hatchback a cleaner and sleeker look. It has more curves than ever but retains its iconic design elements, such as round headlights and grille.

The new Mini Cooper is expected to debut soon, but no official dates have been revealed.

What do you think of the new design direction of the Mini Cooper?
