I am personally not a sedan user and not a sedan lover, but there are specific sedan models that have impressed me in the past years, and one of those is the Honda City RS. The City RS is an entry-level sedan that has been around for several years. Unlike some competitors, it has a stable goal beyond making noise because of its friendly price tag. Here are some points to note before making a purchase.
Pros
It has a promising exterior
The all-new Honda City RS is not just a facelifted version of the outgoing model but rather a more appealing one, as if it is a new Honda model. The front fascia features a sleek look with its dashing headlamps with DRLs and carbon fiber chin. Its massive honeycomb radiator vent grille with piano black accent portion gives a dynamic appeal matched to the hood. On the side, the character lines are very distinct and tasteful which gives a false hint that the Honda City RS costs more than its price tag.
It provides comfort
On the other hand, beyond the looks, the City RS also comes with premium-like comfort. The seats are well-supported and upright, allowing the passengers to maintain good body posture while staying comfortable. The legroom is spacious enough even for tall people, and the headroom is enough to not feel suffocated, especially since the City RS is a sedan. Plus, the ventilation is perfect for a sunny day in a tropical country like the Philippines.
It is one of the best-performing in its category
Among all entry-level sedans in the market, the Honda City RS is one of the few that performs above satisfactorily. Even though there are better premium sedans in the market that comes with bigger engine displacements and higher outputs, the City RS’s performance is more than enough for what a sedan of its size needs. It is very accommodating and easy to handle. It knows what to give you at every moment, very articulate.
It has a notable fuel economy
Just like one of our misconceptions, that if a car performs well on the road, it requires a lot of fuel, is not entirely reliable thinking as the Honda City RS is a fuel-saving machine. You could expect the City RS to sweep around nine to 14 kilometers per liter on a city drive, with some build-up traffic situation while 22 to 23 kilometers per liter on a highway drive. It is not the most promising among its competitors when it comes to fuel economy, but it’s placed above the majority.
The value for money is exquisite
Given all the factors that contribute to its overall awesomeness, the Honda City RS has high regard for your money’s value. At a price range from Php938,000 to Php1,078,000, it already gives you a full pack of desirable features that will surely help and give comfort. In terms of looks, it’s stunning. When it comes to performance, it’s promising. And the comfort and safety give a reassurance that you are in a well-crafted car.
Cons
The cabin tends to be noisy at high speeds
The materials used to make the Honda City RS are of high quality, which gives safety and comfort to the passengers. The cabin is quiet and calm most of the time. However, not all the time, especially when driving past a hundred kilometers per hour. At that point, you can already hear the tires squealing and the engine roaring. Although that seems normal, it is still an observation to take note of.
There are too many plastic materials inside the cabin
Even though the Honda City RS was well designed and comfortable, there are too many plastic materials inside the cabin which is not good for the environment. Plus, it reduces the premium feel of the car. Nevertheless, there’s no room for complaints as this sedan gives more satisfaction. And considering its price tag, it’s already a good catch in the market!
