Expanding the brand
During his speech during the Civic Type R launch, Honda Cars Philippines Inc. President Masahiko Nakamura mentioned that the automaker would further expand its presence in the country.
“Likewise, we will continue with our dealership network expansion through the official opening of the three dealers mentioned earlier, plus the groundbreaking of additional three new dealerships…,” said Nakamura during his speech.
The Japanese brand has 37 operation dealerships in the Philippines, with more on the way.
The brand recently inaugurated Honda Cars Cauayan and broke ground on three dealerships: Honda Cars Bacoor, Honda Cars Sta. Rosa, and Honda Cars Markina. This went with sales and after-sales service improvement efforts in collaboration with the brand’s dealer partners.
The location of the three additional dealerships have yet to be determined. However, we suspect they will be in critical areas where Honda will be able to grow and reach more customers.
Sales goals for 2023
Honda Cars Philippines plans to carry its strong momentum from 2022 into 2023 despite challenges in the global supply chain.
HCPI finished 2022 strong with a 10% growth in sales equivalent to almost 14,000 units, with the Honda City leading the way with 3,500 units, followed by the Honda Brio with 3,400 units, the Honda BR-V with nearly 3,300 units, and other models covering the remaining amount.
To ensure there are no vehicle shortages, HCPI has already amassed an extensive inventory for the BR-V to provide its sales go as smoothly as possible.
Honda CONNECT is coming
Aside from the dealership announcement, HCPI President Masahiko Nakamura also mentioned that they would be launching Honda CONNECT.
No launch date has been set yet for Honda CONNECT. However, we expect it to happen sometime in the first half of this year.
Honda CONNECT uses smart telematics technology that lets users have a seamless connection with their cars via a smartphone application with enhanced safety, security, and convenience.
