Automotive accessories shop Blade Auto Center has become a familiar presence in malls throughout the Philippines.
Offering everything from air fresheners to wipers, the traditionally car-centered chain celebrated a major milestone with the official inauguration of its 50th branch located on Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City on Nov. 7, 2023.
Blade Mindanao Avenue, which was opened in 2020, is also the brand’s first-ever “all-in-one” shop.
Besides offering two expansive floors of the usual accessories, lubricants and other merchandise, the branch also has a service center with four bays that can provide various vehicle maintenance services.
“Blade Mindanao Avenue is a stepping stone to where we want to take the brand and what we want to offer our customers,” Blade founder and CEO Robert S. Tan told AutoFun Philippines.
Not just for car owners
Although Blade has traditionally been associated with car accessories, the company is moving into catering to customers on various other vehicles.
The brand now carries Hiro helmets for motorcycle riders, along with a variety of electric kick scooters for those who want simpler and more sustainable transport amid the chaos of Metro Manila’s streets.
“Service and mobility, these are the things that Blade now stands for,” said Blade business development officer Miles Sy.
Blade was established by Tan in 2004. He set up his first shop in Market! Market!, which is located in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
Since then, the chain has become a fixture in malls of SM, Ayala and Robinsons. In addition, the brand’s main store and administrative offices, which occupy the Blade Building that opened in 2012, are located on West Avenue in Quezon City.
Do you think Blade can become a trusted brand in maintenance services?
