SNEAK PEEK: GWM Philippines showcases its upcoming lineup of vehicles

2023 Haval H6 HEV test drive
GWM Philippines was gracious enough to give us a quick test drive of its upcoming lineup of vehicles. The event took us to Alabang and the Batangas Racing Circuit, where we tested certain features of these vehicles.
At the event, the automaker had on display and ready for us to test two of its crossovers and one more surprise unit, which had a particular off-road course.
First up were the Haval H6 and the Haval Jolion. The Haval H6 is the bigger of the two crossovers and features a hybrid drivetrain.
Under the hood, you are looking at a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a hybrid system. It outputs a total of 240 PS and 530 Nm of torque. It also had adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, and other driver safety features.
Next was the Haval Jolion, a 5-seater crossover like the H6 but with a smaller form factor. There were two variants available for the vehicle: its HEV version and its internal combustion engine counterpart.
Like the Jolion, it too comes with a suite of advanced driver aids which includes adaptive cruise control and other safety features. It also has a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 186 PS and 375 Nm of torque.
Last but not least was the GWM Cannon, the brand’s entry into the pickup truck segment. No specifications were revealed at the event; however, we can say that three variants will likely be available for the pickup truck.
It has a turbodiesel engine, a 4x4 system, and a BorgWarner transfer case, providing seamless torque transfer and improved off-road cornering. It also has an electronic limited-slip differential. No exact pricing was mentioned for the pickup truck. However, our estimates put it at around ₱1.5 million for its top-of-the-line model.
This showcase was just a teaser for the brand’s vehicle lineup, as GWM Philippines is expected to make its official debut sometime later this year.
We can also expect them to be at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show, as they have a booth at the event.
