Isuzu Thailand has given the 2024 Isuzu D-MAX a refresh, featuring a redesigned exterior and mild changes to the pick-up truck's interior.

The facelift gives the vehicle a meaner look, gaining new standard features over the previous version.

A new face

The Thai-spec D-MAX gets a restyled front fascia that includes a new larger mesh-type grille paired with unique grille-bar accents.

It also has a new pair of LED headlights and daytime running lights that look more prominent than ever. The front bumper likewise gets refreshed with more black accents, new foglight housings and a new chin.

These additions to the pick-up truck give it an extra 15 mm in length compared to the previous iteration. Meanwhile, the vehicle's side profile remains essentially the same as the previous version, although there is a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. 

At the back, more noticeable changes can be seen with the pick-up truck as it has aggressive LED taillights and a new rear cover for the tailgate. It also has a unique color option called Namibu Orange Mica. 

Restyled interior

On the inside, the 2024 Isuzu D-MAX looks similar to the previous model, but the Japanese automaker has changed a few things with the cabin.

It now has a 7-inch fully digital instrument panel, which replaces its traditional dual gauges. New materials and new dark brown leather upholstery can also be found inside the pick-up truck.

Paddle shifters have also become available for the top-spec version of the D-MAX, along with a display system that can show climbing and turning angles.

It also gets a new drive mode called “Rough Terrain,” which automatically adjusts power distribution while off the beaten path for better traction, along with a rear differential lock.

Same power

Under the hood, the 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX turbodiesel engine has been carried over, pushing out 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque.

Depending on the variant, it can be paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. 

Like the previous model, the 1.9-liter RZ4E inline-4 turbodiesel has been carried over and still produces 150 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It still shifts via a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, but with no 4WD option. 

Given its launch in Thailand and the upcoming special edition D-MAX model that Isuzu Philippines is launching soon, we could see the updated pickup truck enter the local market sometime in 2024.
