As Ford Motor Company released its 2022 version of the iconic and beasty F-150 pickup, the title "King of Pickup Trucks" was revived and associated again with it as it has always been a superb vehicle in terms of style, features, and performance. It has received several accolades from reputable award-giving bodies.

Powertrain System

The 2022 F-150 sits on the same platform as its sibling Ford Expedition. It carries a 3.0-liter Power Stroke V6 diesel engine that produces a maximum of 253 ps and 596 Nm of torque. A ten-speed Selectshift automatic transmission with a 2-speed 4-wheel drive system transfers all that power to the wheels. 

Dimensions and Capacity

This enormous pickup truck measures 5,885 millimeters long, 2,029 millimeters wide, and 1,961 millimeters high with a 239 millimeters ground clearance, 3,683 millimeters wheelbase, and a 23.9-meter turning radius. It has 3,000 kilograms towing capacity and 1,200 kilograms payload capacity in its massive 1,500-liter cargo space.

Exterior

The overall exterior design of the 2022 Ford F-150 has an athletic yet sophisticated approach, especially at the front. Its front profile features a boxy face with its massive black air vent grille. It is topped with the F-150's iconic horizontal slats, now black, and a Ford logo badge in the middle. At both ends of the stretched horizontal slats are its LED low beam and high beam headlamps with turn signal lights, surrounded by its LED daytime running lights that run further under the LED fog lights below. Its aggressive-looking and muscled hood above gives a sportier finish, complementing its floating-designed front bumper.

On the side, it got massive power-folding rearview mirrors with a blind-spot monitoring camera and repeaters. A little below its side mirrors are functional and stylish side air vents with the F-150 badge. Lifting this mammoth are its 20-inch alloy wheels on all-terrain tires, and to help the occupants get in the truck, Ford put automatic retracting step boards on each side.

At the back, lifting the tailgate will never be a problem as it comes with a power tailgate. It also has a push-button step board and a handle to help you easily get on the cargo bed. Aside from that, it has a default exterior step board where the parking sensors are attached. On each side are its LED taillamps with turn signal lights that resemble the headlights up front, and below the rear bumper are exhaust tips on each side.

Interior

Inside the cabin of the Ford F-150 is an all-premium affair. The wide dashboard comes in a soft leather finish with chrome accents and hard plastic materials. The star of the dashboard is its 12-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. On the driver's side, the steering wheel is covered in leather, and it comes with function buttons for the driver to easily access the infotainment system and driving aids.

Aside from that, the F-150 has an enormous cabin space, which gives passengers comfort; the seats are also premium and comfortable. Upfront, the driver's seat and the front passenger seat are power-adjustable, while the rear seats fold 60:40 to allow access to the vehicle tools storage behind. There are cup/bottle holders for all the occupants, charging ports, dedicated air vents, and a sunroof above.

The F-150 is one of the safest and most secured pickup trucks out in the market. It comes with dual front airbags, side curtain airbags, front-seat side airbags, inflatable rear seat belts, rollover sensors, ABS with EBD, a safety canopy system, and an individual tire pressure monitoring system. It also has AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, a passive anti-theft device and alarm, a perimeter alarm, front and rear parking sensors, and a remote start feature. Aside from that, it also comes with an automatic emergency braking system, adaptive cruise control, ISOFIX tethers, curve control, dynamic brake support, active park assist, SOS post-crash alert system, blind-spot monitoring system, trailer sway control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, engine check warning, engine immobilizer, door ajar warning, and rear camera.
