These are three of the best features of the 2022 Honda Civic that makes potential car buyers go gaga!
The Honda Civic is a living classic car which is beloved by many Filipinos. As a matter of fact, it is so beloved that Honda’s Civic is now on its 11th generation. Many features and design concepts have come and went through the years, but the newest Civic still has the original Honda DNA with its power, handling, and looks (Yes, it takes some getting used to, especially at the exterior side, but you’ll grow into it. *wink*)
Power
The 1498cc 4-cylinder 1.5-liter 16-valve gasoline DOHC VTEC Turbo engine which the Civic has under the hood is something that makes it stand out. This engine produces 178 hp of power and 240 Nm of torque, making it one of the fastest cars in its category. Paired with a CVT transmission, fuel economy is also guaranteed. It also has two other driving modes than normal mode which are Econ and Sport. These help you balance which driving mode to use when. With the right balance of power and efficiency, the Honda Civic is something to dream of.
Handling
The Honda Civic has the signature Honda steering feeling where it’s heavier when you’re getting faster while super light on heavy traffic. This enables the driver to also bring the car where it needs to be, even in tighter corners or super tight spots in city traffic. Also paired with great suspension with the right amount of stiffness, the Civic is planted when going fast on highways and expressways while not too bouncy when driving over surprise potholes. The Civic is a powerful car but the handling makes it an easy car to maneuver and control.
Looks
Alright, the looks on the exterior side, as mentioned, may seem to need a little getting used to, but man, if you want serious looks, check out the RS variant. The inside, it’s almost like the same across the variants except a few details like the seat and steering wheel material and the number of speakers. But hey, the interior is spacious and very classy. Who would have thought of having this elegance with such sportiness? And it goes well together!
BONUS!
There is a bonus, and I really chose to put this after the basic best features, because for me, the best, best feature is this – the Honda Sensing technology. It has all these: Adaptive Cruise Control, Low Speed Follow, a Collision Mitigating Braking System, a Lane Keep Assist System, a Road Departure Mitigation and a Lane Departure Warning, an Auto High Beam system, and a Lead Car Departure Notification. For me, it’s the Honda Sensing technology that makes the 11th generation Civic great. So for those thinking of buying the City RS instead, consider the Civic S as Honda Sensing, all these great technology for road safety, is available for all three Civic variants!
