After nine grueling rounds, the 2022 Philippine Autocross Championship Series (PACS) will come to a close at the country’s largest race track.
PACS announced that it will hold Round 10 on December 3, 2022, at Clark International Speedway. The event will be held simultaneously with the Motul Drag ShowDown that weekend.
PACS founder and race director Danny Santiago told AutoFun Philippines that the 2022 season has been action-packed, despite the late start, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Many participants showed a great improvement in their driving throughout the year,” he said. “We are glad that PACS played a role in developing their skills.”
Santiago also thanked drivers who remained faithful to the series despite the dramatic rise in fuel prices and the fairly distant venues.
The record-holding racing champion also said the awarding ceremony for the 2022 season will be held sometime in December 2022.
10 rounds eyed for PACS 2023
PACS plans to hold 10 rounds again for the 2023 season, which is expected to kick off in late January.
Santiago said he hopes attendance would go up as the new season rolls in with many new faces looking to bag class and overall championships, including the coveted PACS Driver of the Year title.
PACS has also introduced its Season Pass for the 2023 season, which can help drivers save money on their racing costs.
The Season Pass allows drivers to pay in advance for multiple entries at just PhP 850 an entry, which is nearly half the regular rate of PhP 1,500 an entry.
Each PACS entry gives the driver two heats, which are added and ranked to find the class winners. The top three drivers receive trophies for each round and for the overall titles at the end of the season
PACS said the 2023 Season Pass is non-transferable and non-refundable. Any unused entries for the year would be forfeited.
“The Season Pass remains in line with our goal to remain as the most affordable and most accessible racing series in the country,” Santiago said.
Drivers who want to get a Season Pass can send a message to the official PACS Facebook page.
