The French-manufactured Peugeot 3008 is a massive resemblance to its sibling Peugeot 5008 as both of them have been developed at the same time. That is why their looks, functionalities, and components are almost completely the same. However, they differ in particular terms like their body build classification. The 5008 is categorized as a sport utility vehicle while the 3008 is a compact crossover SUV.
Price and Colors
Like its sibling Peugeot 5008, the 3008 is available in one variant in the Philippines – the Peugeot 3008 1.6 Turbo Automatic Transmission, which is priced at Php2,090,000. It comes in Nera Black, Metallic Copper, Pearl White, and Amazonite Grey colors.
Powertrain System
Under the hood of the 2022 Peugeot 3008 is a 1.6-Liter twin-scroll turbo high-pressure gasoline engine, the same as the Peugeot 5008. It also returns 165 horsepower and 240-Newton meters of maximum output. Transmitting the engine power to its front wheels is its six-speed automatic transmission. It sits on top of Peugeot's standard PSA MNP2 platform, and it uses ventilated disc and solid disc brakes. Giving it a smooth ride is its pseudo-MacPherson and rear axle suspension setup.
Exterior
Aside from the fact that the 3008 has a distinct Peugeot exterior vibe, this model looks similar to its sibling Peugeot 5008. It features a frameless radiator grille with the Peugeot lion logo at the center and the 3008 badge on top, aligned with its wide hood. On each side, it got LED headlights with fang-like daytime running lights that look aggressive. Over each side of the hood, there are slim chrome accents that seem to be the continuation of the daytime running lights at the bottom.
Aside from that, there are also a lot of chrome pieces completing the side profile of the 3008 – surrounding the windows, covering half of the side mirror, the door handles, down above the side skirts, and its roof rails. The 3008 rides on 18-inch two-tone alloy rims wrapped in Continental tires, which gives it a more SUV look than the 5008.
At the back, the claw-like rear lights are similar to the 5008, paired with its rear spoiler with a brake light on top. Complementing the chrome accents on the side of the 3008 is also a thick chrome bar found at the bottom of the tailgate with two fake exhausts under the bumper.
Interior
The 3008 comes with an exactly the same Peugeot i-Cockpit design as the 5008, which features a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Its 12.3-inch instrument panel displays the vehicle's information for the driver and is positioned at an eye level for better visibility. The seats and the steering wheel come in an elegant leather finish complementing the panoramic sunroof. And like the 5008, the 3008 comes with surrounding ambient lighting, including the panoramic sun roof's surroundings.
Safety and Security
Like other Peugeot models, the 3008 comes well-equipped with safety and security features to assist and secure the driver and his passengers. It comes with Peugeot's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS): which include advanced driver attention warning, active lane keep assist, advanced grip control, hill assist descent control, active blind-spot detection, and road edge assist that detects broken or solid lanes using a camera. This package helps the driver and corrects the 3008's trajectory when a risk is identified.
It also comes with the standard six airbags, ABS with ABD, ISOFIX tethers, seat belts, an electronic stability control system, crash sensor, and tire pressure monitor. The front and side-impact beams, door ajar warning, engine check warning, night and day rear view camera, brake assist, and cruise control are also present. For more secure travel, Peugeot also included anti-theft alarm, anti-theft device, central locking, power door locks, and engine immobilizer for the 3008.
