Toyota Motor Philippines has revealed the 2022 version of the Toyota Wigo. This entry-level car is a hatchback model that is ideal for individuals and small families. Since its first release back in October 2012, the Wigo has been a popular hatchback model in the country. In addition, it gained more popularity when TMP launched a marketing campaign featuring actors Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz. In 2014-2015, the Car Awards Group in the Philippines has awarded Toyota Wigo the Best Micro Car award.

The Japanese automotive giant Toyota has been trusted in the field ever since it began. Because of that, many people are choosing their products over their competitors. In the microcar class, the Toyota Wigo is a best-selling car with a total of 17,491 units sold in 2021 in the Philippines.

Variants

The Toyota Wigo 2022 is available in four variants – the Wigo 1.0 VVT-i E manual transmission which is available at Php568,000, the Wigo 1.0 VVT-I G manual transmission priced at Php623,000, the Wigo 1.0 VVT-I G automatic transmission available at Php658,000, and the Wigo 1.0 TRD S CVT at Php700,000. For its color variants, the Wigo is available in Yellow SE, Silver Metallic 4, Gray Metallic, Orange Metallic, White 2, and Black 2.

Exterior

The 2022 version of Toyota Wigo upgraded to a sportier look better than its previous version. Toyota has updated the Wigo’s exterior with LED taillights, halogen projector headlights, line grid lamps, fog lamps, bumper, rear spoilers, and radiator opening. You can also have a sharp-looking front spoiler, rear skirts, side skirts, 14-inch alloy wheels, and matching badging. Toyota offers this year’s version a promising exterior style update which is refreshing on the road.

Interior

This Toyota hatchback can seat up to five adult passengers. For a microcar, the Toyota Wigo is fairly spacious including its trunk and boot storage capacity. Although the Wigo is a small car, it is convenient to ride on with its efficient air conditioner system and wide legroom. The cabin is mostly made of plastic, like any other entry-level car. With this material, interior maintenance could be just easy. As a part of this year’s update, Toyota Wigo comes with one-touch Android Auto and Apple CarPlay features for easy navigation and music.

Wigo is equipped with standard safety features, including - ABS, child-lock, front airbags, seat belt warning, crash sensor, door ajar warning, front impact beams, side-impact beams, rear airbags, engine check warning, power door locks, central locking, and rear camera for safe travels. ASEAN NCAP has given the Toyota Wigo an overall safety score of 12.84 points.
