The Autohub Group of Companies has long made its name for selling some of the most desirable cars in the Philippines.
The company, helmed by automotive industry magnate Willy Tee Ten, is the official importer and distributor of European luxury brands like MINI, Rolls-Royce and Lotus.
Autohub also manages NEXTHUB Auto Care, which offers premium maintenance services without the wallet-draining prices of a casa.
The company is pushing to improve the aftersales experience of its clients with the Shell Helix CAR+ analytics device, which was launched on Oct. 17, 2023 at the Autohub showroom in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
The 4G IoT device, which is produced by Singapore-based Carmen Automotives, is plugged into your vehicle’s OBD-2 port and only functions when your car is running. It allows you and NEXTHUB technicians to monitor your car’s performance in real time as it can measure:
Mileage (service due alert)
Coolant and engine temperature
Battery voltage and life
Mass airflow (used to check erratic idling)
Fuel consumption
This technology, which is powered by a Smart SIM card, can prompt vehicle owners via SMS about any problems even before they happen, such as a dying battery or dirty coolant.
For those who don’t want the device to protrude into the footwell, Autohub offers a splitter cable so that you can plug it in from a different location in the car. The company will also replace defective devices for free, so long as it is promptly brought to any NEXTHUB outlet.
The Shell Helix CAR+ device is free for those who get a Shell Helix Premium Oil Change Package at any NEXTHUB branch. It comes with an automatic two-year subscription, with free renewal only available to those who get the NEXTHUB Shell Helix package again.
Do you think more service companies should follow Autohub’s lead and offer technology like this for you?
